Emmerdale may create role for Kensit

Actress Patsy Kensit is in talks with TV soap Emmerdale's bosses about a role in the programme.

An Emmerdale spokeswoman said: "We've spoken to Patsy's agent to find out whether she would be interested in appearing.

"We'd like her to appear but whether that would be in a major role or as a cameo appearance, we don't know.

In recent storylines the farming village in Yorkshire has been hit by plane crashes and huge storms which have wreaked havoc in the community.

The former child performer - once married to Oasis star Liam Gallagher - has appeared in movies Lethal Weapon II and Absolute Beginners.

An Emmerdale spokesman said: "We'd like her to appear, but whether in a cameo or a major role, we don't know."

Despite her acting pedigree, Kensit has attracted more media attention for her love life over recent years.

As well as her failed marriage to Gallagher, she has also been married to rock stars Jim Kerr and Dan Donovan.

She has been starring in West End stage comedy See You Next Tuesday, alongside Nigel Havers, which closed on on Sunday.

Patsy ... Emmerdale bound

Patsy soap role PATSY Kensit can’t wait to join Emmerdale as the soap’s latest femme fatale.

The star of Lethal Weapon II and ex-wife of Oasis bad boy Liam Gallagher will make her debut as wealthy superbitch Sadie King in May.

Kensit gutted as TV comic dumps her

SHE stuck by her vow to stay away from bad boys - but that hasn't helped Patsy Kensit on her quest for long-lasting love.

For we can reveal that clean-living Little Britain star David Walliams has dumped the divorced actress after just a few months.

And to make matters worse he has already moved on - he's turned his attention to model turned TV presenter Lisa Snowdon.

Patsy, who started dating David in November, is said to be 'gutted' by the break-up.

Yesterday the devastated actress, who turns 36 today, insisted that, despite the split, the pair were "still friends."

Meanwhile, David is getting over the romance pretty quickly and has already worked his charm on Lisa, 29, who recently split from CSI actor Gary Dourdan. A source tells us: "David thinks Patsy's lovely, but he has got a packed schedule and wasn't after anything serious.

"He ended it last Friday. The very next day he bumped into Lisa at a TV bash and wasted no time in asking for her number."

Walliams has risen from TV obscurity to become one of the country's hottest properties, making an appearance as Alfie Moon's pal in EastEnders and scooping the Best Newcomer gong at the British Comedy Awards last December.

The 32-year-old describes himself as 'very clean living', and prior to dating Patsy had shied away from celebrity girlfriends.

Our source continued: "He's not really one for the limelight - we all thought Patsy was a one-off and were surprised it lasted as long as it did. But he's fancied Lisa for ages and when he met her he thought she was even sexier in the flesh - she seemed equally keen on him and agreed to go on a date immediately".

Lisa's no stranger to dating stars. As well as Gary she has also stepped out with George Clooney.

Unlucky in love Patsy has three failed marriages behind her. Her bitter split from Liam Gallagher led to a stint in rehab, but she's getting over the break-up by throwing herself into rehearsals for her new role in Emmerdale. She's also been married to Big Audio Dynamite star Dan Donovan and Simple Minds' Jim Kerr.

She also had a much-publicised affair with married ex-soccer star Ally McCoist, who's now getting divorced.

A pal of Patsy's said: "She's down about the whole thing - she was after a stable relationship and she was hoping to get that with David.

Maybe those bad boys aren't so bad after all.

Emmerdale newcomer Patsy Kensit has shrugged off suggestions she’s heartbroken.

The blonde bombshell - who joins the show in May - has recently split with Little Britain comedian David Walliams after a brief romance.

However, despite the tabloid press’ insistence that Patsy is really upset about the break-up, the stunning star has been quick to deny the reports.

Patsy - who was previously married to Simple Minds frontman Jim Kerr and Oasis rocker Liam Gallagher - explains, "Look, there’s no big deal here.

"There was no great romance and there was no great heartbreak. I’m busy and not interested in a serious relationship right now."

And Patsy has hinted the cause of her pragmatic attitude to the relationship is her new role in Emmerdale - which promises to have viewers on the edge of their seats.

And as Patsy prepares to play siren Penny King [that should read Sadie King - ITV.COM error], she adds, "I’m the happiest I’ve ever been."

Meet Wool-Patsy Kensit

By SUN ONLINE REPORTER

EMMERDALE'S sexy new star Patsy Kensit will make a dramatic entrance to the show next month - in a huge chopper.

The 36-year-old actress - who plays the soap's new superbitch Sadie King - will arrive by helicopter wearing a glam fur coat.

Speaking on the set of the Yorkshire show after filming her opening scenes, the star admitted she was nervous but excited about her new role.

"It's been like starting a new school," she said. "Any job is nerve
wracking at first but as soon as I received my first scripts I've just been beside myself with excitement.

"The cast have been incredibly welcoming and Sadie is going to be so much fun to play."

Patsy plays the scheming wife of wealthy businessman Jimmy King (Nick Miles) and her first scenes will be screened on May 10.

A show spokesman: "She is a seductive, powerful and manipulative woman who knows what she wants and makes sure she gets it."

Producers hope her character will follow in the footsteps of the soap's last superbitch, Kim Tate.

Patsy began her acting career in a Birds Eye ad at the age of five but her most famous role came as Mel Gibson's love interest in the movie Lethal Weapon 2.

Patsy to star as scheming pouting maneater

Soap superbitch ... Patsy

POUTING Patsy Kensit arrives in Emmerdale to become the next soap superbitch. Patsy, 36 — ex-wife of Oasis bad boy Liam Gallagher and Simple Minds frontman Jim Kerr — this week began filming her new ITV1 role as maneater Sadie King.

Insiders say her character Sadie is a rich temptress who breaks men’s hearts — so Patsy won’t require too much effort in acting out the role.

Three-times married Patsy, who’s first husband was Big Audio Dynamite star Dan Donovan, had a steamy affair with Scottish footballer Ally McCoist which ended his marriage in 2001.

The Emmerdale insider said: “She dresses to kill and knows how to twist any man. She will get up a lot of noses — and send ratings soaring.”

Viewers will see ultra-glam Sadie swoop into the Yorkshire Dales in a helicopter.

Locals are open-mouthed as she makes her busty entrance — sporting a fur coat and huge diamond ring.

Sadie is the wife of businessman Jimmy King (Nick Miles).

She arrives for the birthday party of millionaire father-in-law Tom (Ken Farrington).

But the insider warned: “She is a manipulative woman who knows what she wants and makes sure she gets it.”

Sadie and her husband are soon scheming to steal the Tates’ business empire.

Lethal Weapon 2 star Patsy, who is renting a house near the set to be on hand for busy filming schedules, said: “Any new job is nerve-racking.

“But as soon as I received my first scripts I was beside myself with excitement. The cast have been incredibly welcoming. Sadie is going to be so much fun to play.”

Kensit: Glamour girl

Patsy adds some glitz to Emmerdale
by Rachael Jolley

Glamorous Patsy Kensit will make a big entrance in Weatherfield on May 10 when her helicopter swoops in for Tom King's 65th birthday party.

She joins Emmerdale's cast as Sadie King, wife of millionaire Jimmy, and will have a stunning wardrobe to go with her big attitude.

An Emmerdale insider said: "Sadie is very controlled, a bit manipulative and very glamorous."

But she denied that Sadie will be a superbitch or a maneater like Charity.

Kensit, who made her acting debut at six, will have plenty of real-life experience of glamour to draw on.

She has already begun filming for her new role, but the question of where Sadie is going to shop for her glitzy wardrobe is not easily answered. "Certainly not in the village. Perhaps she'll be taking her helicopter down to London," quipped an insider. Or there's always Harvey Nicks in Leeds...

Her character Sadie is very family orientated, but will quickly have a spat with Charity. An insider said: "There's likely to be fireworks between her and Charity."
