Stan Richards as Seth Armstrong

 1 Stan Richards, who plays Seth Armstrong, made
his first Emmerdale appearence in 1978.
2 Clive Hornby, who took over the role of Jack Sugden
from Andrew Burt, joined in 1980.
3 Richard Thorp, alias Alan Turner, first appeared as
Home Farm Manager in 1982.
4 Malandra Burrows, who plays Kathy Glover, joined in 1985 as Kathy Bates.
5 Chris Chittell, who plays Eric Pollard made his debut in 1986.
6 Christopher Smith joined Emmerdale in 1989 as Robert Sugden.
7 In November 1989, Peter Amory joined Emmerdale as Chris Tate.
8 Leah Bracknell also joined in November 1989 as Zoë Tate.
9 Deena Payne joined the show in 1993, as Viv Windsor.
10 Steve Halliwell first appeared as Zak Dingle in late 1994

Naomi Lewis as Elsa Feldmann

 1 Jack Sugden was played by Andrew Burt from 1972. Clive Hornby took the role in 1980
2 Madeleine Howard played the part of Sarah Sugden from 1988-1994, untill being replaced by Alyson Spiro.
3 Elsa Feldmann (Chappell) was first played by Naomi Lewis and then Natasha Gray.
4 Frankie Smith was played by Gina Aris in 1999, but was later replaced by Madeleine Bowyer.
5 Toby Cockerell was the first actor to play Scott Windsor untill Ben Freeman took the role in 1998.
6 Donna Windsor was first played by Sophie Jeffery.Verity Rushworth plays the role today.
7 Tom Merrick has been played by three different actors. David Hill, Edward Peel and Jack Carr.
8 Robert Sugden was originaly played by Richard Smith. Christopher Smith then played Robert ( No relation) Today Robert is played by Karl Davies.
9 Dolly Skilbeck was first played by Katharine Barker untill Jean Rogers took the part in 1980.
10 In the very first episode Marion Wilks was played by Gail Harrison. When she returned in 1985 she was played by Debbie Blythe

Steve Marshal threatens Eric Pollard

 1 Steve Marshal played by Gavin Kitchen is my all time favourite bad guy.
2 Jim Latimer, who raped and murdered Sharon Crossthwaite in 1973.
When he was released from jail 18 years later he kidnapped Sarah Sugden because Jack had been a witness at his trial.
3 Derek Warner, who joined forces with Harry Mowlem to rob a security van of £6000. Later he murdered Mowlem.
4 Harry Mowlem, evil quarry owner played by Godfrey James
5 Tom Merrick. More a selfish fool than an evil man, but a nasty piece of work all the same
6 Eric Pollard. Dodgy Eric is played by Chris Chittell
7 Cain Dingle, played by Jeff Hornby
8 Zak Dingle played by Steve Halliwell. He was a very bad guy when he first appeared but has gone too soft now.
9 Chris Tate. Chris likes to think he is a bad guy, but deep down he's just very sad.
10 Ben Dingle, who's death lead to the arrival of the Dingle clan
