About Tony Audenshaw who plays Bob Hope in Emmerdale
IMDB entry for: Antony Audenshaw
A Huge Big Thank you to Paul Berridge who has made various profiles and photos availabe to me. They were previously on his Beckindale site (that is no more). The following is one of those profiles - although anything after 2001 has been added.
Anthony Audenshaw (Bob Hope) was walking on air after completing the London Marathon on April 22nd 2001. The Emmerdale actor finished the 26.2-mile course in 3 hours, 33 minutes. Anthony was running for the Leukaemia Research Fund.
If Bob, Emmerdale's amorous travelling salesman, looks familiar it could be because you remember him from an altogether different role in the Yorkshire serial.
Back in 1996 he played a character called Acky. "I was a security guard up at the quarry with Butch and Marlon," explains Antony Audenshaw, who plays Bob Hope.
Like his namesake, Bob has a smooth line in patter but Acky was quite a different story. "There was a lot of trouble going on at the time," remembers Antony. "
it was to do with the sale of Home Farm and I ended up knocking out Betty
with a pick axe handle. I was in quite a few episodes and then the
"I remember writing to the producer at the time and asking if there was any chance that Acky would come back. He said only if they were going to stage World War Three!"
Now Antony is back knocking the ladies out with an altogether different technique. From the moment he showed Viv his tights in the post office their relationship has blossomed (big time), at first to the disgust of Kelly and Donna.
"It's the sort of part I always wanted," says Anthony "Bob could be quite a cool character, but he also comes across as a bit over eager and a bit sweaty."
Bob and Viv were married on Feb, 5th 2001

I thought I'd tell you that I'm wearing Seventies clothes for a month for Leukaemia Research Fund. I run for the charity's running team along with a load of the cast, but I wanted to do something a bit different to raise money for the charity.

I'll be auctioning one t shirt a day until Sunday September 21st, the day of the great North Run.
Thanks for your support and keep watching the show, there's a real buzz about the place at the moment because there are some great stories and performances coming up over the next month or so.
