Filming in the new "village" on the Harewood Estate began on 13th January.

Zak Dingle and Lisa Clegg are married on the 28th of January.

Alex Oakwell returned in February and Tara agreed to leave the country with him. But it was a big shock to her when he stole her diamonds and left without her.

Steve Marchant knocks Kathy down as he is stealing a horse from the stud as part of an insurance scam.

On the 16th, Tricia Stokes arrived in Emmerdale to see her "Granddad" Alan Turner.

Key Events
 Mrs Kirk, Paddy's mum, is determined to break Mandy Dingle & Paddy up.
First she offers to set Mandy up with her own business in Harrogate, providing that she never sees Paddy again, Mandy tells her where to go as she's far richer with her family than Mrs Kirk will ever be. In despair, she turns to her new friend Viv, who suggests that she could buy Mandy off. Mrs Kirk then offers to give money to the Dingle's if she marries anyone but Paddy. Again Mandy tells her no-way, but later changes her mind when she sees how happy her family are. Mrs Kirk lays down the law - Mandy has to find a fiance within a month, she has to stay married to him for 2 years, and she must never tell Paddy about the arrangement.

Eventually, she accepts Butch's offer of marriage, but only for money, not love (Butch is disappointed).

Vic Windsor dies after he falls and hits his head, during a struggle with Billy Hopwood. Hopwood was attempting to rob the post office till, but escaped with only £50.

Belle Dingle is born in the pig sty at the Dingles farm on christmas day.
