Review
Paul is left reeling from the truth about Siobhan's abortion, and questions whether his marriage is also a sham. Gloria begins to wonder if Steph wants more than just friendship from Pollard. Charity prepares for her bail hearing and heaps more pressure on Marlon in the process.

Betrayed by his wife, Paul moves back to the family house as he struggles to accept why Siobhan aborted their baby. The Marsden’s are stunned as the revelations unfold and they try to make sense of her reasons. Meanwhile, desperate Siobhan tries to get through to Paul, but he pushes her away.
YTV EMMERDALE Monday 10 November 2003 at 7.00pm on ITV1 Network Paul is devastated when he discovers Siobhan's secret and smashes up the cot he had been making for the baby. Pictured: Paul (MATTHEW BOOTH) and Frances (SANDY WALSH).
Venting his frustration and anger, he picks up a hammer and proceeds to smash the cot he had lovingly made for the baby to smithereens.

Marlon’s attempts to find homeless Charity somewhere to live, if she is granted bail, are failing miserably as no one wants to accommodate an alleged murderer. He later visits his cousin in jail, letting her know that he has been trying unsuccessfully to find her somewhere to stay.

YTV EMMERDALE Monday 10 November 2003 at 7.00pm on ITV1 Network Marlon (MARK CHARNOCK) agrees that Charity (EMMA ATKINS) can stay in his cellar to help her get bail.

He concludes the only option will be for her to live in his cellar.

Tactless Steph makes one jibe too many towards her old friend Shelly and the sparks certainly fly. Sick of being mocked about her size and eating habits Shelly gives Steph a piece of her mind.

Frances tells her daughter-in-law she will never forgive her.
Paul has spent the night at his parents following Siobhan’s revelations about her abortion. All hell breaks loose at the Marsden’s when Siobhan arrives to try and make peace with her husband. With emotions running high Paul informs his shocked parents about how Siobhan pretended to have the miscarriage. Frances is unable to control her anger, throwing her daughter-in-law out of the family house, shouting after her that she had no right to take a life.
Siobhan begs Paul
Later on, Siobhan begs Paul to forgive her for the lies but remains adamant that she made the right decision by aborting the baby. However, in Paul’s eyes his wife’s actions are unforgivable. He tells Siobhan that he’ll never be able to trust her again.

Frances finds a distraught Paul in the workshop smashing up the cot he had lovingly built for his child.
Eric gives Steph an innocent thank you peck for what he see's as her moral support
Gloria is feeling sorry for herself, but a pep talk from Edna boosts her fighting spirit. Determined to win back her man Gloria marches round to Eric’s, but is shocked to spot him planting a kiss on Steph’s cheek. Blind to Steph’s devious ways Pollard is showing his appreciation for all her support during his difficult time.

Marlon is persuaded by Charity’s solicitor to allow her to use Pear Tree Cottage as an address for the bail hearing. As they decorate the cottage Paddy warns Marlon that he’ll be out before he’s even moved in if Zoe finds out.
Zak voices his disapproval to Cain breaking th edingle code
Zak voices his disapproval to Cain about him standing up in court to testify against a fellow Dingle. Meanwhile Cain struggles to meet Debbie’s request for money to go on a school trip.

Steph oversteps the line when she viciously gibes Shelley about her weight in front of Alan. Be-trodden Shelley finally finds a voice as she gives an apologetic Steph a piece of her mind.

Review
Charity's bail hearing is rocked by a shock revelation that sets tongues wagging in the village. Frances prepares her children for news of Siobhan's skullduggery but Siobhan finds an unlikely ally within the family. As Gloria heads out of Pollard's life, another contender is waiting in the wings to enter it.

It is the morning of Charity’s hearing and tensions are high all round. Charity is queasy as she prepares to hear her fate. Having gathered in court the crowds watch on in amazement as Charity becomes unsteady on her feet and collapses to the floor. Speculation is rife as to whether she is faking illness to be granted bail.

The court reconvenes and a shocking revelation is unveiled - Charity is eight weeks pregnant. Zoe watches on in horror as this new piece of information results in Charity being granted bail.

 

Gloria is miffed when she catches Pollard sharing a cosy lunch with Steph. She abandons her original plan to try to save her relationship and informs Pollard that she is leaving instead.

In a bid to save her marriage, distraught Siobhan asks Ronnie to talk to Paul. Ronnie’s interference appears to do more harm than good as Paul is intent that his marriage is beyond repair and Frances is annoyed that Ronnie is speaking up for Siobhan. Worried about his daughter-in-law Ronnie goes to see Siobhan and she breaks down in his arms.

Steph convinces an upset Pollard that Gloria is the wrong woman for him and they propose a toast to new beginnings.

Charity at court
The tension mounts on the morning of Charity’s preliminary bail hearing. As Charity arrives at court amid a media frenzy Debbie sadly looks on as her mother is escorted into the courtroom. The drama soon unfolds when Charity turns white in the face and faints after being asked to stand before the judge. The hearing is adjourned until the afternoon while Charity is taken off to Hotten General to undergo tests.
Charity faints
The hearing re-begins with the shocking news that medical tests show Charity is eight weeks pregnant. As the courtroom reels from the revelation the judge grants bail to enable Charity to be looked after by her own GP. As the news spreads across the village so does speculation as to the identity of the father. With Marlon a strong contender for the title, following his one-night stand with Charity, the chef is worried sick about her moving into Pear Tree Cottage. However his pleas for her to find another place to live fall on deaf ears as Charity insists that her needs are more important than Marlon’s conscience.
Cain
Meanwhile Chas gives Cain food for thought after telling her brother that she thinks he’s still got feelings for Charity and is taking the easy way out by testifying against her.

Cain is convinced that the baby is his, and Charity tries to persuade him to retract the police statement so they can become a family.
Siobhan breaks down on Ronnie
In a bid to save her marriage, distraught Siobhan asks Ronnie to talk to Paul. Step comforts Eric
Steph continues to dig her claws into naive Pollard, who still believes her intentions are entirely innocent. Before leaving for London Gloria offers Pollard another chance to forgive her infidelity but finds smug Steph dressed up to the nines enjoying a lunch date with her husband. As Pollard sadly watches his wife leave Steph assures her boss that Gloria wasn’t good enough for him.

Eddie is treading on thin ice at the café after an argument with Zak results in broken crockery. Donna, holding a grudge over the missing birthday money, is quick to report Eddie’s misdemeanours back to an angry Viv. Bob sweet talks his wife into giving his brother one final chance working at the café.

Review
Charity is relieved when Cain buys into her vision of the future, but Zoe plans to throw a spanner in the works. Eddie cooks up another money-making scam to repay his debts. Marlon's loyalties are split as he struggles to do the right thing by Charity.

Pregnant Charity decides that she might be able to use her condition to her advantage. Knowing the father of her child could be one of three men - Marlon, Cain or Chris, Charity decides to use this as a persuasive tool.

She tells Zoe that the baby is Chris’s in the hope that this will encourage her to change her statement, but also convinces Cain that the baby is his to stop him from testifying against her. Charity’s scheming soon backfires when Zoe questions Cain about bringing up Chris’s baby. How will Cain react having realised that Charity has been deceiving him?

Eddie is thrilled when he is given extra responsibility in the cafe and he decides to use his position to make some quick cash. As he takes an order from a bread supplier he cunningly plants a beetle in one of the cakes. As hoped Eddie is given the order at a reduced rate. Proud Eddie then gives the money he saved to Viv to pay off his debts. Will she discover that she is being given her own money?

Charity catches Zoe and Jean out and tries to persuade Zoe to help.
Knowing the father of her child could be one of three men - Marlon, Cain or Chris, pregnant Charity decides that she might be able to use her condition to her advantage.

First she persuades Marlon to let her stay at Pear Tree Cottage, promising not to mention their night together.

Charity then pays Zoe a visit to inform her that the baby she is carrying is Chris’s, hoping the news will encourage Zoe to change her statement.
Charity tries to get Cain on side
Having proposed to Cain that they become a proper family Charity convinces him that the baby is his, primarily to stop him from testifying against her.

However the plan backfires when Zoe approaches Cain to ask how he feels about bringing up Chris’s baby. Cain reacts badly, certain that Charity has been deceiving him to save her own skin once again.
Eddie
Bob persuades Viv to give Eddie more responsibility at the café so the salesman decides to use the position to make some quick cash.

Having been conned the previous day after Zak planted a fingernail in his food to get a free meal, Eddie decides to take a leave out of the Dingle book. As he takes an order from a bread supplier he cunningly plants a beetle in one of the cakes. As hoped Eddie is given the order at a reduced rate. Proud Eddie then gives the money he saved to Viv to pay off Donna’s birthday fund debts.

Elsewhere Paddy is furious with Marlon about allowing Charity to stay at Pear Tree Cottage.

And Marlon catches Shadrach talking to the press about Charity’s pregnancy but is spooked when the old man suggests that Marlon’s new housemate is more than just a friend.

Review
Charity plays a dangerous game and soon regrets her actions. Frustrated by his lack of access to Jean, Scott is surprised by an enticing offer from an unlikely source. Andy is dismayed when he gets a first-hand insight into Daz's pitiful home life.

Charity’s baby is continuing to cause her problems. Cain is still furious that Charity could string him along, but is convinced that the baby is his. Debbie is equally as angry with her mother for upsetting Cain.

Charity admits to a distraught Debbie that she is considering having an abortion. Debbie is horrified and desperately tries to persuade Charity she is a great mother, but will her pleas fall on deaf ears or will Charity go ahead with a termination? Charity’s day goes from bad to worse when Marlon tells her she is going to have to find somewhere else to live.

Scott is shocked when Zoe makes him an unexpected offer – a job working for the Tate empire. Knowing that this will allow him to spend more time with Jean makes it is an offer that he can’t refuse.

Andy is furious when he gets a call from the police informing him that his mischievous brother Daz has been caught joy riding. Fuming Andy takes him to his mother’s, but after he sees the way Denise treats Daz he is forced to invite Daz to come home with him. Will this be a permanent arrangement?

Sam finds a newspaper article about Charity and realises that Shadrach has been cashing in on his family’s misfortune.

Andy goes to Daz's rescue
Andy gets an unexpected call from the Manchester police saying that Daz has been caught joyriding. With his mum refusing to pick him up from the station Andy has to take responsibility. The unruly boy is scared to face the wrath of his mum alone so Andy accompanies him into the house. However uninterested Denise just tells Andy that she can’t handle Daz any more, leaving her wayward son in Andy’s care while she goes out with friends. Andy reluctantly takes his brother back to Butler’s farm for the night.
Charity cuddles Debbie
Cain confides in Lisa over his feelings of betrayal after almost believing Charity about wanting to become a family. Meanwhile Debbie senses Cain’s hurt and so marches round to Pear Tree Cottage to give her mum a piece of her mind. Debbie dishes out some home truths to Charity about the morals of using and manipulating people, particularly an unborn baby. When Charity admits that she’s a useless mother and is considering having an abortion Debbie emotionally blackmails her into promising to keep the baby whatever happens.
Marlon and Zak
Marlon is reaching breaking point living with Charity and his guilty conscience. Worried sick that the baby could actually be his, the suggestive comments from the likes of Viv about his pregnant housemate touch a raw nerve. Eventually Marlon’s driven to begging Zak for refuge on the Dingle sofa until Trish gets back.

Yet another scandalous article appears in the local tabloid, this time exposing Charity’s pregnancy and previous occupation as a prostitute. It doesn’t take long for Zak to sniff out the insider and when he catches up with Shadrach the dirty cash is confiscated to pay back the money he previously stole from Chas.

Zoe has an unexpected proposition for Scott giving guaranteed access to baby Jean. After summoning him to Home Farm, Zoe offers Scott a well-paid job working in the Tate Empire doing chores.

Review
Andy's loyalties to his brother are tested when Denise returns for a reluctant Daz. Charity's battle to prove her innocence falters when she oversteps the mark with a witness. Rodney and Danny return from their foreign adventure with some exciting news.

YTV EMMEDALE Friday 14 November 2003 at 7.00pm on ITV1 Network Zoe (LEAH BRACKNELL) and Scott (BEN FREEMAN) share a tender moment when she allows him to feed baby Jean (MEG PEARSON).

Following his brush with the law Andy reluctantly agrees to let Daz stay another night to keep him out of trouble. But after spending a surprisingly enjoyable day bonding with his brother Andy is caught off guard when Denise turns up unannounced to collect Daz. Seeing Daz’s sad expression Andy can’t help but feel protective and tells Denise that Daz can stay with him until she gets her act together.

Charity is convinced that her lawyer is unsure of her innocence and after a routine meeting she reacts angrily and sacks him on the spot. But with no money to pay for a replacement she could end up without representation at the murder trial.

YTV EMMERDALE Friday 14 November 2003 at 7.00pm on ITV1 Network Dawn (JULIA MALLAM) is delighted as Terry (BILLY HARTMAN) takes his first steps.

Meanwhile, progress is slow at the hospital for Terry and his mood isn’t improved by the necessity to wear an eye patch to assist his balance. Struggling with his mobility, Terry’s persistence pays off when a delighted Dawn watches him take his first steps in the hospital gym.

Andy and Daz
Following his brush with the law Andy reluctantly lets Daz stay another night to keep him out of trouble. Whilst working on the farm the brothers spend a surprisingly enjoyable day bonding. However when elusive Denise turns up unannounced to collect Daz, Andy is caught off guard and can’t help but feel protective. He tells an irritated Denise that Daz is staying with him until she gets her act together.
Charity sacks her soliciter
Charity’s day goes from bad to worse after waking with morning sickness and then firing her lawyer. Desperate to clear her name Charity is convinced that persuading Zoe and Cain to change their statements would be the key to her freedom. When her lawyer warns against breaching bail conditions by communicating with the witnesses, Charity angrily questions whether he actually believes she is innocent. The lawyer is unable to give a straight answer and Charity reacts badly, sacking him on the spot. Hearing the news Debbie worries about how her mum will be able to afford another brief to represent her case.
Zak goes to visit Terry
Terry is pleased when he finally takes his first step, under the supervision of his physio. However is later disheartened when asked to wear an eye patch to help with his balance. When Zak tells him that Jack’s surprise birthday party is in two week’s time Terry makes it his recovery goal.

Rodney and Danny return from their travels in South America, but are keeping the fruits of their trip firmly under their flat caps for the time being.

Zoe softens slightly towards Scott allowing him to help feed baby Jean after he successfully collects the rent from Butler's farm.
