Review
Gloria plays with fire when she calls Steph's bluff and refuses to pay for her lover's indiscretion. Paul is rocked by Siobhan's news but will he see through her lies? A friendly face helps get Terry on the road to recovery.

Having hidden her guilt over her termination for so long, Siobhan decides to rid herself of the emotional burden she’s been carrying and fake a miscarriage. Putting on a brave face, Siobhan tells a devastated Paul that they have lost the baby and comforts him through his grief. He’s sure it must be punishment for them having originally considered a termination.

Steph assures Hillary that she will be discreet about his relationship with Gloria but then proceeds to blackmail the MP for £2,500 to keep quiet about it. Later, Steph and Shelly start to gossip about Hillary having a new ‘partner’ which makes Gloria feel even more uncomfortable. Gloria tells Steph that she will make her manager of the factory if she keeps quiet but Steph insists that only the cash will do.

Dawn takes TJ to see his dad in hospital and is delighted when he makes inroads with his speech. Terry is further encouraged when one of his therapists turns out to be someone he once played rugby with. But as they discuss Terry’s progress, Dawn realises how much is ahead of them.

YTV EMMERDALE Monday 3 November 2003 at 7.00pm on ITV1 Network Louise (EMILY SYMONS) and Ashley (JOHN MIDDLETON) wake up together.

It’s the morning after the night before and the vicar and the landlady wake up in bed together. Louise’s ‘slave’ Ashley offers to make her breakfast in bed. Blissfully happy that they are finally together, they decide to make their relationship official.

Louise and Ashley
It’s the morning after the night before as Ashley and Louise blissfully wake up in bed together after the slave auction. With no regretful feelings the couple decide to start dating offically.

Diane is amazed to return home to find a toga-clad vicar holding a breakfast tray for two and a barmaid with a smile on her face! Later on Diane gives her friend’s relationship with Ashley her seal of approval.
Steph continues her blackmail of Gloria
Elsewhere devious Steph thinks she has struck gold following Hillary’s revelations about his affair with politician and married woman, Gloria. Having found the untapped resource Steph doesn’t waste any time in blackmailing Gloria £2, 500. Steph is unimpressed when Gloria offers her a managerial role at the factory as an alternative, so gives Gloria until the next morning to come up with the hard cash before Pollard learns about his wife’s infidelity.

Meanwhile blissfully ignorant Pollard is on cloud nine, telling his guilty wife that he wants to spend a lot more time with her in the future.
Siobhan shows mock sympathy for Paul
Siobhan dreads faking a miscarriage but is determined that it’s the only way to get her life back to normal. Having actually gone through with a termination Siobhan is overcome with guilt as she comforts her devastated husband, having informed him they have lost the baby.

Terry is progressing slowly but surely at the hospital. Encouraged by the fact his physio is an old mate from his rugby days he is ready to start re-learning mobility.

Review
Gloria digs for dirt on Steph's and comes up smelling of roses. Siobhan braces herself as Paul lets Frances and Ronnie in on their heartache. Ashley struggles to deal with village reaction to his relationship with Louise.

Terry struggles to put on a brave face after his stroke but even a visit from Zak does little to raise his spirits. He is later disheartened as the doctor tries to get him to sit up straight in his wheelchair. Unable to support his own weight, Terry topples forward and the doctor quickly steps in to cushion his fall.

Naïve Paul struggles to come to terms with Siobhan’s miscarriage and despite his own grief, finds the time to fuss over his wife. Uncomfortable around Paul and upset by her deceit, Siobhan lies that she is seeing the midwife later but would rather go alone.

She later tells Louise she hates all the lying but admits she has no regrets. That evening Frances and Ronnie call round for dinner and pick up on the tension straight away. Paul tells them about the baby and Siobhan is uneasy as they offer sympathy and understanding.

Determined to get her own back on Steph for blackmailing her, Gloria does some digging into her arch enemy’s past and is delighted when she comes across some criminal records including a six month prison sentence for fraud. Hillary is quick to give her a congratulatory kiss, but frosty Gloria pushes him away and reminds him it is over between them.

EMMERDALE Tuesday 4 November 2003 at 7.00pm on ITV1 Network Katie (SAMMY WINWARD) get a job at the Woolpack.

Elsewhere in the village, Katie is the latest addition to the Woolpack team as Diane gives the pretty blonde a trial at glass collecting.

Steph and Gloria
While Steph is off on a shopping spree spending her anticipated blackmail money Gloria, determined not to be bullied by the likes of Steph, sets about digging for dirt on her enemy. Pulling out all the plugs the politician is delighted to discover that Steph has been imprisoned for fraud and deception. In light of Steph’s criminal record attempted blackmail would not be viewed lightly by the police.
With Steph under control Gloria asks Hillary to leave the village so she can get her marriage back on track.
Frances offers her sympathies to Siobhan while Paul looks on
After the shocking news that Siobhan lost the baby Paul is concerned for his wife’s wellbeing. However Siobhan finds his fussing suffocating, particularly as the only pain she feels is her guilty conscience.

Siobhan’s day goes from bad to worse when Paul tells Frances the news, who is full of sympathy for her daughter-in-law. With the pressure mounting on Siobhan she prays that life will get back to normal soon.
Terry starts to make progress
Terry’s pleased when a friendly face turns up at the hospital to offer him support. The sight of his mate Zak helps to encourage Terry to put the effort into regaining his skills.

Ashley and Louise are acting like love struck teenagers after finally getting it together. The local vicar shocks the Woolpack regulars by planting a lingering kiss on Louise’s lips in front of the amazed audience.

Katie is offered a trial run working at the Woolpack collecting glasses, much to the delight of the male contingency.

Review
Steph plays hard-ball with Gloria and decides it is time to kiss and sell. Siobhan's treachery backfires when Paul makes plans to try for another child. Louise plays mum to Gabby with disastrous consequences.

Having faked a miscarriage, guilty Siobhan is keen to get out of the house and go back to work. Paul is troubled by her blasé attitude towards the situation and begs her to take the day off. Convinced that Siobhan is suppressing all her feelings about losing the baby, Paul makes a comment about them trying to get pregnant again and Siobhan storms out of the house.

Meanwhile, Steph is up to her old tricks and is determined to make a bob or two from Gloria’s love life. She teams up with a local reporter and they plot to catch the MP in a passionate clinch with Hillary. However, Gloria is keen to end the love affair and agrees to meet Hillary to tell him it is over. Little do they know they are being snapped by the lurking photographer, who catches the MP giving her colleague a goodbye kiss.

Now that their relationship is official, Louise is keen to make an effort with Gabby and offers to take her out for the day. But their trip to the park ends in tears as Gabby takes a tumble. Louise is beside herself with panic as she picks up the tot. Worried about Ashley’s reaction to his daughter’s accident, Louise is later relieved when the vicar reassures her that everything is fine and that accidents happen.

YTV EMMERDALE Wednesday 5 November 2003 at 7.00pm on ITV1 Network Dawn, Bob and Viv visit Terry, but Bob instantly feels uncomfortable ...... Terry (BILLY HARTMAN) and visitors (L-R) Dawn (JULIA MALLAM), Bob (ANTHONY AUDENSHAW) and Viv (DEENA PAYNE).

Dawn, Viv and Bob go to the hospital to visit Terry but Bob is instantly uncomfortable. Picking up on the tension, Dawn takes Viv away to leave the two men alone and Terry shocks the life out of Bob by bursting into song to break the ice.

Steph leads the press to Gloria and Hilary
Steph decides to seek revenge on Gloria. With a hot story about a local married MP having an affair with a toy boy she approaches the local tabloid offering them the scoop. Steph uses Hillary as the bait, persuading the lovesick researcher to try one last time with Gloria before leaving the village. With reporter and photographer in tow Steph eagerly follows Hillary who arranges to meet Gloria outside the village hall. Once again Hillary is given the elbow, but little does Gloria know that their goodbye kiss has been caught on camera.
Louise, Ashley and Gabby
Louise is keen to make a good impression on Gabby so offers to baby sit for the afternoon. Things don’t go as planned when Gabby falls off a swing and grazes her knee. Ashley assures a nervous Louise that accidents like this happen and that he doesn’t expect his new love interest to become Gabby's mother.
Terry sings to Bob
Viv insists that a reluctant Bob pay Terry a visit in hospital after avoiding his friend since the stroke. When Terry performs his latest trick of sitting up and drinking on his own Bob doesn’t share Viv and Dawn’s enthusiasm. When the two men are left alone Terry breaks the silence by singing to dumbstruck Bob.

Paul upsets Siobhan by offering comforting words about trying for another baby. After the ordeal of lying about the termination and faking a miscarriage it’s the last thing on Siobhan’s mind. Later Paul apologies for being so hasty, agreeing to let things get back to normal before mentioning babies again.

Review
It's a bad news day for Pollard and Gloria when her affair becomes front-page news. Siobhan's pretence is sorely tested when she finds herself at odds with Frances. A surprise phone call puts Marlon under pressure to find a new home.

News of Gloria’s affair spreads like wildfire, as the whole village is astonished to read all about her private life in the tabloids.

Meanwhile, Steph can barely contain herself, knowing that her cheque for the tip off is in the post.

Blissfully unaware of her new found fame, Gloria heads off to the village hall for her surgery for constituents and is shocked by the turn out. Viv marches to the front of the queue and presents Gloria with the revealing newspaper article. It doesn’t take long for the news to spread and devastated Pollard is on the warpath for his estranged wife. Confronted with the gossip about her affair, Gloria is unable to deny the allegations that are plastered all over the papers. Will he be able to forgive his philandering wife, or will she be out on her ear?

Marlon is over the moon to hear that Tricia will be home in a few weeks. He is forced to put his thinking cap on and find them somewhere to live. With Paul and Siobhan living in their old house, Marlon asks Zoe if she would let him rent Pear Tree cottage, but being a Dingle his chances don’t look good given Zoe’s bitter feelings towards Charity.

Elsewhere in the village, Frances tries to talk to Siobhan about the miscarriage but the pair end up falling out when Siobhan tells her mother-in-law that it was probably a good thing.

Steph gloats over the newpaper headlines
Gloria’s constituents are amazed to read about the local MP’s affair with her researcher in the local tabloid. As the shocked factory girls pour over the article, smug Steph admires her handiwork.

With Gloria holding a constituent surgery in the village hall the interested locals queue up to speak to the philandering MP. However Gloria is blissfully unaware that her secret is in the public domain, until a discourteous Viv presents her with the article.
Steph comforts Eric
Meanwhile Pollard reads the newspaper and is devastated by the revelations about his estranged wife.

Confronted with the gossip about her affair, Gloria is unable to deny the allegations that are plastered all over the papers.

With Gloria out of the picture Steph is quick to offer Pollard a shoulder to cry on.
Marlon begs Zoe to rent him a cottage
Marlon is ecstatic when he hears that Trish will be back in England in time for Christmas. However, with Alan selling the cottage to the Marsden’s, the chef is presented with a housing problem. Hoping that Zoe will put her resentfulness toward the Dingles to one side Marlon approaches her about Pear Tree Cottage, however the bitterness is rife as Zoe rejects the offer.

Concerned about her daughter-in-law’s recent miscarriage Frances pays Siobhan a visit to offer support. However the pair end up falling out after Siobhan tells a shocked Frances that it was probably a good thing that they lost the baby.

Review
Siobhan's lies come home to roost when Paul uncovers her web of deceit. Gloria makes a last-ditch effort to save her shattered marriage. Turner and Shelly vow to help each other beat the battle of the bulge.

Meanwhile, Steph comforts Pollard, assuring him that Gloria isn’t worth all the upset. Later, Gloria insists to Pollard that she wants him back and they can start over but he refuses to listen, telling her to go back to London and her boyfriend. Desperate, Gloria tells him that she has resigned as an MP because her marriage is more important. He wavers but is unable to forgive her and she leaves.

Paul tells her about the miscarriage but the midwife is insistent that there is no record of it on her notes. Paul is annoyed but agrees to get Siobhan to give the midwife a call.

When Siobhan gets home Paul asks her what the mix up is and eventually she cracks and tells him the truth – that she had an abortion. Paul is appalled by her lies and feels totally betrayed. He leaves, telling Siobhan she is on her own.

Pollard’s devastated despite Steph assuring him that Gloria is not worth the upset. Meanwhile disgraced Gloria wakes up with a hangover, having spent the night at Edna’s house after drowning her sorrows.

Marlon goes to see Charity in jail
Having been successful in persuading Zoe to rent Pear Tree Cottage to Marlon, Paddy helps his mate move in. Later when Marlon visits Charity in prison he’s put in an awkward position when Charity begs him to let her use the address as a permanent address to help get bail. With a guilty conscience having slept with Charity, Marlon is desperate to distance himself before Trish gets home.
