Review
Bob returns without Viv, but finds he's gained a brother. Cain is jealous as Chris and Charity appear to be growing closer. Robert attempts to untangle his love life.

Bitter Chris begins to privately discuss divorce proceedings with his lawyer.
When she informs him Charity will still get access to their joint accounts
Chris makes plans for a spending spree. Knowing his days are numbered, Chris is
determined to bankrupt Charity and begins by buying Debbie a horse. Unbeknown
to Charity, Chris has a hidden agenda, just when she thinks he is making an
effort with Debbie, he is really planning to make their lives hell.

Shifty Eddie Hope is keen to make a quick exit once he hears his brother Bob
is due back in town. But persuasive Dawn has other ideas. Having always been a
successful salesman, Eddie is worried his failing career will become
transparent, but he reluctantly agrees to stick around.

As the holidaymakers return from their cruise, Viv’s absence is the talk of
town. Bob is forced to explain to the locals that his beloved wife did not run
off with the captain of the ship, but was bitten by a mosquito and caught a
rare disease and is now being held in quarantine. Overjoyed to see his brother,
Bob raves on to the rest of the villagers about Eddie’s marvellous selling
skills, setting him an impossible task to prove his powers of persuasion to the
locals.

Elsewhere in the village, Robert is keen to have his wicked way with Elaine,
but she is not so sure and feels guilty about Donna. It becomes apparent that
Robert hasn’t even told Donna it is over. With her due back from the cruise
any time, Elaine gives Robert an ultimatum. Will he continue to string both
girls along, or become a one-woman man?

Chris continues his plotting

Robert is keen to have his wicked way with Elaine, but she’s not so sure and feels guilty about Donna. It becomes apparent that Robert hasn’t even told Donna it is over. With her due back from the cruise any time, Elaine gives Robert an ultimatum. Donna is gutted when she is told that the relationship is over, however is relieved when Robert assures her that nothing is going on between him and Elaine.
Bob and Eddie come face to face

Review
Eddie goes to desperate lengths to reach his sales targets. Terry is confused as Chris continues to string Charity along. Rodney is intrigued by a money-making opportunity.

At Home Farm, Chris is consumed with bitter jealousy as he eagerly spends the
fortune he has built up over the years, determined to leave Charity
penniless. Terry, however, begs him to come clean and tell his wife the truth about
their future.

Having just purchased a helicopter, Terry is alarmed at his boss’ behaviour
as he squanders his millions. He finally convinces Chris to talk to Charity.
Oblivious to Chris’s plans, Charity is taken in by his talk of a new beginning
and she agrees to spend the night with Chris.

Elsewhere in the village, Louise gets a fright when she spots a mouse in the
Woolpack and all hell breaks loose as they are forced to call in pest control
to investigate.

Eddie is still trying to keep the wolf from the door as his boss is harassing
him to meet impossible targets. But times are tough for the floundering
salesman as he realises he is wasting his time trying to flog Betty double-glazing.
After a grilling from his superior about a lack of results, Eddie is forced
to take desperate measures as he forges Diane’s signature on a contract and
faxes it off to his boss.

Rodney’s run-in with an American property tycoon gives him delusions of
grandeur, when the agent offers him commission to find stately homes that are
suitable for development. Not content on just making commission, he decides to give
the property market a whirl himself, leaving Danny perplexed by his proposals.

Diane, Louise and bob discover a rodent in the Woolpack kitchen
Louise gets a fright when she spots a mouse in the Woolpack. The sighting forces Diane to withdraw her interest in purchasing Eddie’s double-glazing to concentrate the funds on more pressing issues. Eddie is still trying to keep the wolf from the door as his boss is harassing him to meet impossible targets. The floundering salesman finds trying to flog Betty double-glazing tough task. Terry and Chris

Elaine is put in an awkward position when Donna calls on her for a shoulder to cry on over being dumped by Robert. Ronnie cottons on to the situation, warning Elaine that Robert would probably cheat on her too.

Review
Charity's world comes crashing down as Chris reveals his hand. Eddie is delighted as he makes an unexpected sale. Rodney struggles to generate the capital for his money-spinning deal.

Having spent the night together, Charity is warm and affectionate towards
Chris, hoping they have rekindled their turbulent relationship. She is later
bemused when an unusual package is delivered in Chris’ name. However, life at Home
Farm seems to be getting back to normal until Chris confronts Charity with
the shock relation that their night of passion meant nothing and he is filing
for divorce.

Having been lulled into a false sense of security, Charity is incensed when
she realises she has been tricked. She cannot contain her anger as she
violently launches herself at wheelchair-bound Chris and has to be restrained by Terry.

Eddie makes his first legitimate sale in the village when he gets Sam Dingle
to sign on the dotted line. Little does he know Sam hasn’t got a penny to his
name and the chances of seeing any cash are slim to none. But with his boss
Garry still threatening to give him the sack, one good sale a day is not enough
for Eddie, as he forges Betty’s signature on another contract and sends it
off.

Meanwhile, Steph is desperate to get in Pollard’s good books as she manages
to diffuse an angry supplier at the factory.

Elsewhere in the village, Rodney puts his house on the line to secure a loan
from the bank to begin his real estate empire. He is determined to buy the
stately mansion at an auction the following day. Danny thinks he is totally
deluded.

Charity is taken for a ride Wednesday 10.09.03
Terry pull Charity away from chris when she starts attacking her husband
After a romantic night in the bedroom with her husband, Charity feels she is beginning to win back Chris’s affections after her misdemeanours. As the day progresses she becomes increasingly amazed by Chris’s generosity as gifts are showed on them including a helicopter, holiday and mystery package. Charity is knocked for six when the lord of the manor announces that the gifts are actually all for him and that he has filed for divorce with the intention of leaving her penniless. Overcome by Chris’s perfectly executed deception Charity lunges at him in frustration and anger. Hearing his boss cry for help Terry pulls an infuriated Charity off Chris, throwing her out of the house.
Cain lays into Ali after he bad mouths Charity, Debbie and Elaine look on.
Meanwhile Cain gives Ali a physical warning not to upset his daughter again following an earlier incident in the café between the teenagers.

With Lisa away on family business Steph is set on making a good impression at the factory so jumps at the opportunity to deal with an angry client in Pollard’s absence, even managing to secure another order with the irate business man.

Rodney puts all his efforts into raising funds to make his mark in the property market, even approaching rival Pollard as a potential investor.
Eddie starts to forge signatures
Eddie is still feeling the pinch from his boss to meet his quota of window sales, so is relieved when Sam Dingle signs on the dotted line. Promising to himself that he’ll cancel any fake contracts as soon as legitimate sales are secured, Eddie forges Betty’s signature on another order.

Diane gives the go ahead for Syd and Paul to start work on a new Woolpack kitchen, following the vermin attack the previous day.

Review
Loath to let a good opportunity pass, Rodney gets carried away at auction. Charity is left out in the cold on finding the Home Farm locks changed. Zoe is left reeling at the news of Chris' tumour.

At Home Farm, knowing his days are numbered, Chris has the sombre task of
re-allocating his estate in his Will, leaving the bulk of his wealth to Zoe, and
disinheriting Charity. He also makes Zoe Joseph’s legal guardian.

Having been filled in by Ashley, Zoe hurries to Home Farm from her holiday
and she is shocked to find Charity banging on the front door. She refuses to let
her in telling her the affair was unforgivable. Inside, Zoe consoles Chris,
but tells him she still can’t forgive him for framing Scott. She is later
shocked when Chris admits it may be better for Zoe to move out of Home Farm and
confesses he has a terminal tumour. Hysterical, Zoe breaks down.

Rodney and Danny nervously await the start of the auction. As proceedings get
underway, Rodney finds himself placing the winning bid of £1million. Not
knowing whether to laugh or cry, he is dazed as he walks away from the auction
wondering how he is going to raise the funds in time.

Elsewhere in the village, Steph continues to charm Pollard at the factory.
Convinced her ingenuity will win her a place in Turner’s Will, she is determined
to make something of herself and make her father proud. But cunning Steph is
still keen to keep her colleagues sweet and continues to make jibes about
Pollard behind his back to keep the workers entertained.

Sale of the century Thursday 11.09.03
Rodney and Danny go at the auction
Rodney bites the investment bullet by buying the mill for one million pounds in a property auction. Despite paying over the odds, he assures Nicola that he’s set to become a millionaire.

The only problem is ensuring that Pollard gets planning permission passed within two weeks. Always keen on making a quick dollar Pollard accepts the bribe of fifteen grand, but will he be able to deliver the goods in time for Rodney to clench the deal?
Zoe confronts Charity
Having been kicked out of Home Farm Charity wakes up in a posh hotel with Debbie, confident that her credit card will be footing the bill.

Determined to retrieve some of her possessions she makes her way up to Home Farm. Meanwhile Zoe returns from her holiday to the shocking news that Charity has been unfaithful to her brother. Despite her exasperation at how Chris treated Scott, Zoe feels obliged to check on her brother.

Up at Home Farm she finds the locks changed and an enraged Charity hammering on the door demanding to be let in. Telling Charity that she has committed the worst possible form of treachery against the Tate’s, Zoe orders her get off the property before she calls the police.
Chris tells Zoe about his illness
Concerned for her brother’s wellbeing Zoe is surprised to learn that Charity is the last thing on Chris’s mind. Bracing himself for the inevitable tears, Chris gently informs Zoe that he has an inoperable brain tumour.

Steph continues to play her devious game at the factory, in a bid to impress Turner. Pollard, totally oblivious to her cunning ways, laps up the tip offs from Steph on how the workers are slacking behind his back. Meanwhile Steph is champion of the workers in front of her colleagues.

Eddie offers to help Dawn in the café to relieve the pressure now that Viv is stuck in quarantine.

Review
Rodney has to use unconventional means to raise capital for his investment. Zoe struggles to come to terms with Chris' terminal illness. Charity finds comfort in Cain's arms.

It doesn’t take long for Cain to find out that Charity has been thrown out of
Home Farm. Concerned for both her and Debbie he goes looking for them. When
he catches up with Charity, she explains Chris won’t even let her in the house
to get her car keys or clothes.

Cain offers to give her a lift to the shops to buy what she needs. Later at a
hotel, Charity vows to start spending Chris’s money and they order several
bottles of champagne on her credit card. Assuming that after the divorce Charity
will get half of everything, Cain admits he is looking forward to helping her
spend her millions. Drunk Cain goes to kiss Charity, recklessly she responds.
Zoe is struggling to come to terms with the revelation that Chris is dying of
a terminal tumour. She asks him if she can move back into Home Farm to
support him, but Chris insists that Cain and Charity are dangerous and that he doesn’
t want her caught in the crossfire.

Chris gives Zoe permission to tell Ashley about his condition if she needs
to. Zoe is venomous in her hatred of Charity and can’t believe she is going to
get away with it. But Chris insists Charity is going to pay for what she has
done to the Tates.

Elsewhere in the village, Rodney is still trying to scramble the money
together to secure the property and he is forced to turn to a loan shark.

Chris and Zoe
Zoe tries to come to terms with the news of her brother’s imminent demise. Having filled Zoe in on the deterioration symptoms Chris makes her promise to leave Charity in the dark. If his wife learned of Chris’s terminal illness her solicitor could detest his will on the grounds that his mind was not fit. Chris asks Zoe to stay at Ashley’s place for the time being, fearing that her and Jean may be in danger at Home Farm.
Charity and Cain
Marlon tells Cain, who has been out drinking all night, about Chris throwing Charity out the house. Strategically bumping into Charity in the village Cain joins her for a huge shopping spree followed by champagne at her hotel.
After a few too many drinks Cain escorts Charity up to her room, where they fall into each other’s arms once again.
Rodney turns to a loan shark for some additional cash.
Rodney finds it hard convincing his daughter that the property investment plan is watertight. With only 28 days to pay the deposit of one hundred thousand pounds Nicola is convinced that her dad is about to go bankrupt. After failing to extract investment from Turner, Rodney turns to a loan shark for some additional cash.

Ashley makes arrangements for a village talent night, much to the delight of Bob who can’t wait for the opportunity to entertain the masses. Meanwhile, brother Eddie forges another signature on a sales contract– this time Edna Birch’s.
