The tension increases between Viv and Paddy
7:00 PM to 7:30 PM
Keeping the status quo gets increasingly tricky
for Paddy and Viv.
Val makes sure Pollard keeps her in the frame
on the business front.
Andy gets tetchy about Max and Libby.
Paddy (Dominic Brunt) confides in Marlon (Mark Charnock) about what happened
with Viv (Deena Payne) and confesses that although he turned her down he was
tempted. Marlon can’t help feeling amused but warns Paddy not to take
it any further.
Later that day, Emily (Kate McGregor) thinks Viv needs cheering up
and invites her round for supper. An awkward Viv and Paddy agree to
forget about the previous night, but both are thinking of nothing else.
Over in the Woolpack, Steph (Lorraine Chase) announces that she is
sorry and Turner (Richard Thorp) can’t help but feel a slight
twang of sympathy. Shelly (Carolyn Pickles) is furious when she walks
in and sees Turner with Steph. Diane (Elizabeth Estensen), noting her
anger, suggests that Steph leaves.
Elsewhere Pollard (Chris Chittell) and Val’s (Charlie Hardwick)
money-making plan continues. The evening paper prints a positive piece
about Pollard, and Val insists that Pollard agree to a 35% share of

After the knee-touching
and the locking of eyes with Viv the previous evening, Paddy
is somewhat nervous and twitchy as Emily asks him what he
got up to. He tells her that he went for a drink with Marlon
in the pub – cue the chef himself, who hesitatingly
agrees with Paddy that he was indeed having a drink.
He asks Paddy what he’s hiding, but the vet promptly
leaves only for Marlon to catch up with him later as he feigns
a sickness with his Dalmation, Daisy
(who is a real cutey it has to be said!). The two mates sit down and chat as
Paddy reluctantly tells Marlon what happened the previous evening.
Marlon is quick to laugh it off, until Paddy actually admits that he was tempted
by Viv’s advances! Marlon again has a chuckle, but seeing how worried Paddy
is he begins to realise that his friend is being deadly serious. He tells him
that it’s only because he and Emily are going through a rough patch, but
still Paddy tells himself that he’s a ‘sick, sick, man’.
Meanwhile, Emily has been chatting to Viv and tells her that Paddy was acting
weird that morning. This worries Viv who asks after the vet. But Emily is convinced
that her husband and Marlon simply had an argument the previous evening that
has made Paddy act so strange. Viv is visibly relieved.
In fact, the feisty lady admits she’s a changed woman and even admits that
she’s nosy, much to Emily’s surprise: ‘You’ve never criticised
yourself before,’ she tells her boss. Viv tells her that she’s now
going to be ‘calm and composed and not be obsessed with finding a man – say
hello to the new Viv Windsor!’ We'll believe it when see it, Viv!
Emily is clearly distressed that Viv is acting rather strangely too, and tells
Paddy that she’s going to invite her to dinner to cheer her up… more
of that disastrous evening in a minute.
Elsewhere, Turner tells Terry that he will sell the B&B for £250,000.
Terry is shocked that it’s so cheap, but Alan admits that the recent negative
press has reduced its price. Terry agrees, but gets carried away in an instant
and asks Diane if they can merge businesses. Never scared of saying what she
really feels, the landlady tells him to hold his horses for a couple of months
while he settles in. Wise words…
While Turner is in the pub Steph arrives and seeing him alone goes and sits by
him while ordering Ethan to get her a drink! Cheeky mare! She announces to him,
and the rest of the pub in a cringeworthy speech, just how sorry she is for what
she has done to him and Shelly.
Embarrassed, Turner makes her sit down, but as she does Shelly walks in and demands
that her former best friend leaves. Turner tries to explain that Steph was simply
apologising and he wants to try and understand her. Shelly bites back: ‘What’s
to understand, she’s a moster and always will be.’
Back at the awkward dinner party and Viv arrives dressed up to the nines (isn't
she always?). She tells Paddy that Emily told her to, but he tells her off for
dressing up for him thinking she wants to flirt with him some more! She denies
it and they agree to put the previous evening’s events behind them. Easier
said than done…
While Emily is out of the room Paddy lays into Viv, again telling her that she
dressed up for him. But he harshly tells her that she doesn’t look sexy,
she looks desperate! Viv bursts into tears as Emily walks. She promptly leaves
while Paddy gets an ear-bashing from his wife.
