--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When Viv (Deena Payne) hears that Bob (Tony Audenshaw) has a date, she is distraught and, seeking comfort, rings Emily. Emily is out but Paddy takes the call and goes round to console Viv.

After two bottles of wine Viv becomes flirtatious and Paddy is torn between horror and lust as their eyes lock. However, when Viv misreads the signs and puts her hand on his knee, Paddy makes his excuses and leaves.

Meanwhile, Sadie (Patsy Kensit) wonders how she can win Jimmy (Nick Miles) back and arrives at the Woolpack all glammed up. Jimmy ignores her and she feels humiliated as all eyes are on her. Sadie refuses a drink from Robert (Karl Davies) and leaves.

Elsewhere, Pollard (Chris Chittell) is appalled by a newspaper headline regarding the local library and devises a money-making plan with Val as a result.

Viv gets in a paddy! Friday 4th Mar

Sadie isn’t haven’t much luck convincing the King clan to forgive her, but she’s resolute and when Zoe tells her not to give up, she proudly announces: ‘I wouldn’t know how to.’
Husband Jimmy, meanwhile, is dressed in his suit ready for work, until Carl points out that he was actually fired by his dad. But on the phone later we see exactly why he has suit donned – he’s making his own business deals as we hear him say: ‘Nevermind about me dad, he’s history.’
Having scared off Jonny, Viv is still on the man hunt and declares to Emily that she must get a man before Bob gets a woman, she scans her eyes over the Lonely Hearts column to no avail, though.
Donna is appalled by her mum’s dress sense and her desperation to get a man and tells her to ‘stop behaving like a pathetic old slapper and grow up’. That’s not very nice now, Donna. More of Viv later (yes, there’s more).
Elsewhere, and Pollard is at the library ready to shut it down, but is delighted when he stumbles across some original pieces of art! The pound signs are in his eyes. His day gets even better when Val suggests that he gets back into the public’s good books (excuse the pun) by giving the books away to hospitals and schools. That Geordie is a genious!
Steph on the other hand has taken up Ethan’s suggestion to write her thoughts down. But instead she’s putting them in a letter to Turner and Shelly, which she drops in later that day. Shelly is determined not to read the letter and promptly rips it up. Turner, though, is clearly softening towards his daughter and is annoyed at Shelly’s behaviour. Do we detect some trouble brewing perchance?
Meanwhile, Sadie realises that the only way she can keep her nose in with the King’s is to get Jimmy on side again. The blond beauty dons her best dress and heads to the Woolpack intent on turning her husband’s head. She tells Zoe: ‘If I can win him back everything else will fall into place.’ Easier said than done...
At the pub Jimmy is full of beans, much to the surprise of Matthew. But his brother tells him that ‘he can stick King and Sons, I’m going places’. As he gets up to leave, Sadie walks in, but he blanks his wife and walks out, much to her distress. The pub is silent as the villagers look on at the fallen lady, Robert offers to buy her a drink but it all becomes too much for her and she runs out!
Back to Viv and she calls Emily to ask her over to cheer her up. But she’s out for the evening and Viv persuades Paddy to go round instead. But the poor woman doesn’t expect some home truths to come rolling out of the vet’s mouth and after he calls her selfish, small-minded, vain and the most unpleasant person he’s met, she burst into tears!
Paddy manages to calm her down, but after a few more glasses of wine he tells her that she’s also attractive and good fun to be with, but as their eyes lock she puts her hand on his knee! Ooer! Paddy goes bright red, panics, and rushes out of the door, unable to believe what just happened! Well I never, Paddy and Viv!
