Viv and Paddy struggle to contain their feelings for one another
7:00 PM to 7:30 PM
Carl (Tom Lister) confronts Chloe (Amy Nuttall) about the letter and
despite her desperate attempts she is unable to convince him that she
is innocent. Carl tells her that he wants her out of the house and
Jimmy turns up to reinforce his decision.
Over in the post office, Dawn (Julia Mallam) sees Ashley (John Middleton)
who tells her that he’s struggling to find a baby-sitter for
Gabby (Annelise Manojlovic). Dawn offers her services and is delighted
to have found a solution to her cash crisis.
Meanwhile, Viv (Deena Payne) finds another excuse to take Buffy the
rabbit to the vets and Paddy (Dominic Brunt) can’t help but be
pleased to see her. As he reaches for the pet, Paddy’s hand strokes
Viv’s. They both feel the chemistry; will they give into temptation?

| Carl is over at Tom’s with his kids and tells his father
that he thinks Chloe wrote the poison letters. Tom can’t
believe she’d do it as she’s ‘practically family
now’. Carl points out that that is exactly what she’s
been after all this time. Tom asks Carl if he’s sure. ‘As
sure as I can be’, he tells him. Tom warns him to be careful
though and reminds him that she is carrying his baby.
The showdown that we’ve all been waiting for happens later that day when
Carl confronts Chloe about the letter. He points out that she made the same spelling
mistake that was in one of the letters. She insists that Colleen was the sender,
but Carl points out that she was away on holiday when the letter was apparently
‘It was you, Chloe!’ She feigns shock and asks him how he can think
that. He brings up several other things that happened while the letters were
being sent, such as the perfume she must have sprayed on his shirt so that Chas
would get suspicious.
Chloe tells him that Chas could have sent them, seeing as they stopped arriving
when she left. But Carl asks her why Chas would stop sending them, why wouldn’t
she continue them to try and split him and Chloe up aswell? He tells Chloe that
he wants to believe she’s telling the truth, but only for one reason – the
fact that she’s carrying his baby.
Chloe begs him to move on and forget about it, but he’s already questioning
their relationship. ‘You’re the kind of girl every man would love
on their arm,’ he tells her. ‘All I want to do is make you happy,’ she
tells him, but he replies, ‘Then why aren’t I happy?’ he questions
her. ‘Our relationship is just a complete sham,’ he goes on, ‘All
those lies you’ve told.’ He tells her he’s going to the pub
and ‘when I come back I don’t want you here, I want you to move out’.
Phew, and a break from that comes in the light relief of Viv and Paddy. Buffy
is of course off her food still and as Paddy has a feel around the rabbit, she
keeps her hands there and tells him how soft his hands are.’ ‘So
are yours,’ he replies. Pass the bucket!
Meanwhile, things are finally looking up for Dawn when she offers to babysit
Gabby for Ashley. The vicar is so grateful he even gives her a nice, crisp £20
note, much to her delight.
Back to the action and Chloe talks to Jimmy about the letters and Carl’s
belief that it’s her. ‘Do you think I’d be that desperate?
I get plenty of offers, you’d know all about that, Jimmy.’ She begs
him to speak to Carl and tell him that she couldn’t possibly have sent
the letters. He tells her that Carl’s the best judge, giving that she’s
Jimmy tells her that she’d better get a move on as Carl will be back soon.
Now a bit desperate, she tries changes tack by threatening to reveal all to the
police about Carl’s involvement in Paul Marsden’s death. Jimmy threatens
her back, ‘Marsden was an accident, you won’t be.’
Now Jimmy’s the one to chuck her out rather than Carl! ‘Things got
worse when he moved in,’ Chloe shouts at Jimmy, but Carl points out, ‘They
got worse because you lied and cheated.’ ‘Why would I do that? I’m
carrying your baby,’ Chloe wails. ‘I cannot build my life around
a piece of eye candy, the truth is,’ Carl tells her, ‘I never loved
‘But what about the baby?’ she asks. ‘I wanted this baby to
grow up in an environment of love and trust,' he tells her, 'but there’s
none of that here.’ He tells her he’s booked her into the B&B
and that she can come an collect the rest of her things tomorrow. ‘You’re
going to regret this,’ she shouts at him. Somehow Chloe, we doubt it!
