Steph makes a shock confession to murder

ITV1 Network 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM

Review :-

Steph finally breaks and admits she murdered Shelly leaving Turner devastated.

With Sadie out of the picture, Jimmy works out her schemes.

Chloe enjoys being Carl’s centre of attention.

Ethan (Liam O’Brien) visits Steph (Lorraine Chase) in prison and is stunned when she tells him that the flashbacks in her mind have made her realise that she must have murdered Shelly (Carolyn Pickles).

Steph asks the curate to tell Turner (Richard Thorp) the truth and to let him know how sorry she is. She then calls her solicitor and insists that her plea is changed to guilty.

Over at the Woolpack, Carl (Tom Lister) cancels his trip away with Max (Charlie Kemp) in order to spend time with Chloe (Amy Nuttall). Chloe is smug that she finally has Carl just where she wants him.

Jimmy‘s (Nick Miles) suspicions towards his wife intensify. After some rooting around he manages to find the number of the private investigator that she hired to photograph Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Charity (Emma Atkins). He arranges to meet him the following day but what will the meeting reveal?

Having slept on it, Carl suggests to Chloe that they go private for the abortion to make it as easy and as quick as possible. He tells her again that he’s supporting her all the way and that he wants to go to the clinic with her.
Ethan arrives at the prison and tells Steph about the calls Turner has received and how he thinks it may be Steph. ‘Don’t hold your breath,’ she tells him. She questions why he can’t accept the inevitable and realise that she’s going down for murder.
She explains that she’s been having flashbacks and is trying to remember what happened. She wants to make sense of what happened, she knows she hated Shelly, ‘she became the best friend I wished I never had’. She then admits to Ethan that she did kill Steph.
Ethan tells her he doesn’t believe her. She tells him that people block out things that are painful and admits that is what she has done. 'I was the last person to see her alive,' she says, and again tells him that she killed Shelly.
She asks Ethan if Turner could ever forgive her. She says she hates what she’s put Turner him through and that she didn’t mean to hurt Shelly. She asks Ethan to tell her Dad that she has confessed and to tell him that she’s sorry.
Meanwhile, Andy, feeling bitter that Libby has a boyfriend – Marcus – tells her that he has been undercharging her for her stable fees. ‘Business is business after all,’ he tells her. You weren’t saying that two days ago, Andy…
Elsewhere, Charity has a brainwave and tells Jimmy that Sadie must have hired a private detective to take the photos. She tells him to track him down as he will provide the evidence she needs to prove her innocence. He tells her he’ll ‘do what I can’.
Carl tells Max that he and Chloe have agreed to have an abortion. Not particularly tactful, Max asks Carl if he’ll dump her when the dust settles to which Carl promptly tells him to stop being so callous. Carl decides to stay with Chloe instead of going to Amsterdam – aww, he’s a sweetie really!
Feeling useless, Turner starts to pack his bags to go to Cornwall. Betty tells him to stop being stupid and says he should wait here in case Shelly tries to contact him again. Meanwhile, Steph calls her solicitor to tell him she’s changing her plea to guilty.
On a less serious note, Louise manages to persuade Paul to be Terry’s partner in tomorrow evening’s open-mic night. He agrees! But it seems there was a lot of bribing going on to get him to say yes! Sneaky Louise!
Back at Home Farm, Jimmy’s checking Sadie’s phone bill once again and eventually hits lucky when the private detective answers his call. He arranges a meeting for the following day.
After visiting Steph, Ethan has the awful deed of telling Turner that Steph has confessed to Shelly’s murder. At first Turner doesn’t believe him because of the calls, but then the full horror hits him and he breaks down.
