Ashley retracts his resignation from the church
ITV1 Network
7:00 PM to 7:30 PM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ashley (John Middleton) wrestles with his conscience having turned
his back on the church and after a long chat with Zoe (Leah Bracknell)
he decides to retract his resignation. How will Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy)
react when she discovers that he has put their wedding in jeopardy?
Meanwhile, Charity (Emma Atkins) desperately tries to convince Debbie
(Charley Webb) that she was set up by Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Sadie
(Patsy Kensit) and begs her to leave the village with her. Cain sees
Charity preaching to their daughter and in a fury he manhandles his
ex-lover out of the door.

Later that evening, Charity goes to the Woolpack and tells the Dingles
of her plans to move away. Sadie overhears and is clearly delighted,
but Jimmy (Nick Miles) is left panicking about what may be in store
for him.
Elsewhere, Paddy (Dominic Brunt) and Emily (Kate McGregor) try to
resolve their sexual problems by talking about their feelings. However,
as they embrace, Emily’s uncomfortable expression suggests that
they still have a long way to go.

to wait for him, but at the same time he knows he can't live without
Laurel or the Church. |
|
Zoe tells him that he seems to have lost his temper with the
Bishop rather than with his faith. As she speaks to him he realises
that he can’t go through with his resignation. But he’s
filled with dread for he knows that it will break both his and
Laurel’s heart. |

changed his mind. |

Meanwhile, over at the Woolpack, Charity tells her family that
she’ll be leaving for a fresh start. Sadie overhears and
can’t help but express her delight. But Charity walks over

love. I hope it makes you as happy as it will make me.’ A
little riddle there for Sadie, who actually looks a little scared! |
