Marlon goes to see Paddy after their session in the
pub the previous evening. Paddy tells Marlon to forget all that
he told him about his and Emily's problems in the bedroom. The
chef tells Paddy that the key word here is ‘romance’.
Paddy heads off into town to buy Emily a present, as recommended
by Marlon... oh dear! |
|
Meanwhile, the Bishop goes to see Ashley again and tells him
that he didn’t give him a definitive no to the wedding, but
while he knows that Ashley loves Laurel, his conscience is telling
him that the couple need to wait. |
|
After Chas reads out a postcard from Bob in the pub, Viv gets
drunk and depressed and is distraught that her estranged husband
his having lots of fun while she’s at home with no-one. |
|
Paddy has taken the advice of Marlon and cooks a meal for Emily.
He also gives her a silk nightgown, ooer! The poor girl completely
misses the point, though, and tells a disappointed Paddy that she
will keep the nightie for a special occasion. |
|
As they sit down to dinner, though, Emily asks Paddy why he’s
gone to so much trouble. Paddy tells her he’s just giving
their relationship a health check, it slowly dawns on Emily that
Paddy is alluding to sex, and the lack of it in their relationship. |
|
Emily is saved by the bell, though, for Viv calls her up in a
state asking her to go round there. ‘What about this food?’ Paddy
asks. But Emily tells him that she’s lost her appetite now. |
|
As they get round to Viv’s though, they find that they’re
not the only ones that she has assembled for Dawn, Donna and Marlon
are all there too. Paddy makes a quick exit to Scott’s to
babysit so that he can go round and see his mum. |
|
Scott, however, is unimpressed with his mum’s behaviour
and tells her to stop making a show of herself. She admits, to
the discomfort of those in the room, that she's a passionate woman
and just needs a man. It seems neither her nor Paddy are having
much luck in the bedroom lately... |
|
Meanwhile, Chas invites Debbie round for a chat and tries to
tell her that Charity was set up by Cain and Sadie. But Debbie
doesn’t believe her and tells her that she can’t trust
or rely on anyone at the moment. Clearly perturbed, Chas tells
Charity that she has to do something, ‘she looks like the
loneliest kid in the world’. |
|
Paddy catches up with Emily and they talk in the street. A careless
word from Dawn has made Emily convinced that Paddy is having an
affair! |
|
Paddy admits that he spoke to Marlon about their situation, which
leaves Emily paranoid their relationship and she walks off upset. |
|
Once home, though, she doesn’t stop talking about Paddy’s
concern over their sex life. But he admits that he just wanted
to know if she still fancied him the way she used to when they
first met. ‘I love your bones, you silly kipper,’ she
tells him. He says he loves her too and they hug, but by the look
on Paddy’s face it is clear that he’s still not happy. |
