Episode:
3965 - Wednesday 2nd February 2005
A surprise guest turns up at Shelly’s
memorial
ITV1 Network
7:00 PM to 7:30 PM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The villagers attend a tearful memorial service in honour of Shelly (Carolyn
Pickles) and they all gather around as Turner (Richard Thorp) reads a sonnet
from one of her poetry books.
Turner stays behind and talks aloud, telling Shelly how much he misses
her. He gets the fright of his life when there is a tap on his shoulder
and he turns around to see a surprise guest. How will he react to the
shock arrival?
Over in the Woolpack, Chas (Lucy Pargeter) offers Carl (Tom Lister)
a listening ear as it is obvious that he is struggling to come to terms
with his new situation. The chemistry between them is clear but they
have little choice but to deny the feelings they have for one another.
Meanwhile, Zak (Steve Halliwell) sets about finding out the identity
of Chas’ new man and gets the wrong end of the stick when he
sees her chatting to Rodney (Patrick Mower)!

A pregnancy test reveals Chloe is still not pregnant,
so she decides to try and get Carl into bed with her before work.
It’s obviously not the first time in a matter of hours that
she has tried for he asks her what’s wrong. She blames her
horny hormones. |
|
Ethan arrives at the prison and Steph is eager to hear what Turner
said about her letter. He tells her that her father didn’t
read the letter and that he’s holding a memorial service
for Shelly today. |
|
Meanwhile, at the King headquarters, Tom tells Jimmy and Matthew
that since his third grandchild is along the way that Chloe will
not be using the stairs in the office nor any lifting or carrying.
He then orders a miserable Jimmy to make coffee, much to Matthew's
amusement! |
|
Zak is convinced Rodney is Chas’s new boyfriend after seeing
them talk the previous evening and invites him to dinner that evening.
Rodney is bemused that Chas may like him…so you should be
Rodders! |
|
Elsewhere, Nicola’s not having much luck getting her side
of the business off the ground as all her client’s details
and accounts are on Paddy’s computer, which he is refusing
to give back to her. Laurel, on the other hand, has had a very
productive day, some people get all the luck… |
|
Max and Carl escape to the Woolpack for a drink and Max quizzes
his brother on his feelings for Chas. He tells Max that’s
he’s going to do the right thing and stand by Chloe, which
Chas overhears. |
|
It’s the day of the memorial service and Turner and friends
pay their respects to Shelly. But as the camera whizzes around
it looks like someone is watching the service… but who could
it be? |
|
Back at the pub, Denzel walks in and asks Chas about their plans
this evening, Zak sees the copper and is over in a flash telling
him to stop harassing her. Meanwhile, Rodney tells Chas about their
dinner date and she tells him not to bother, instead packing him
off with a peck on the cheek instead! |
|
Tom tells Chloe and Carl that he’ll be giving them both
a pay rise now that a baby is on the way. He tells Carl that a
substantial one may be on the way if he can prove himself. Nice! |
|
He heads off to the pub for a mini-celebratory drink where he
has a heart-to-heart, well sort of, with Chas. He tells her that
him and Chloe happened so fast and tells her that he wished things
could have been different between them (him and Chas that is).
Chas agrees, but despite their feelings for one another they both
agree there’s nothing they can do now. |
|
Back at the prison and Steph’s solicitor suggests she has
some psychiatric testing. If the tests prove she is mentally ill
then she will be able to spend her sentence in a hospital rather
than prison. But Steph is having none if it and tells him that
she must pay for what she’s done and that she’s not
looking for an easy ride. |
|
Meanwhile, back at the memorial site, Turner is saying his last
regards to Shelly when the woman herself turns up in 'disguise'!
But how will Turner react? You’ll have to wait until Thursday
to find out! |
