Despite her best efforts, Steph fails to impress
ITV1 Network
7:00 PM to 7:30 PM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Despite her best efforts, Steph fails to impress
Charity (Emma Atkins)
is triumphant, having got the evidence she needed on video tape.
After making several copies she heads into the pub with one in her
bag.

Chas (Lucy Pargeter) is shocked when her cousin asks her to look after
the tape and demands that Charity tell her exactly what is going on.
Chas is alarmed to hear the contents of the videotape and is clearly
worried when Charity announces that she intends to blackmail an unsuspecting
Jimmy the following day.
Elsewhere, Steph (Lorraine Chase) inappropriately interrupts a meeting
between Ethan (Liam O’Brien) and a grieving widow. Her offer
of cake goes down like a lead balloon and Ethan is furious as the devastated
woman rushes out in tears. Could Steph’s days at the vicarage
be numbered?
Louise (Emily Symons) and Terry (Billy Hartman) return home from their
trip to Scotland more in love than ever. When Louise later offers to
help Terry out at the B&B, they decide that they are a good team
and agree that they are serious about one another.

Lovebirds Terry and Louise have returned from
their two-week hols in Scotland and they’re more loved
up than ever! Louise later tells Diane that she misses him
and got used to seeing him every day. ‘That’s not
the talk of love,’ Diane tells her, ‘that’s
the talk of marriage.’ |
|
We later find out just how serious the two have become when
Terry goes to see Dawn and his son. He tells her that he and
Louise are ‘getting pretty serious’. Dawn says
she’s really happy for them and tells him that it’s
exactly the same between her and Scott. Somehow we don’t
believe you though, Dawn, sure you’re not a bit envious? |
|
Meanwhile, Charity buys a pack of empty video tapes in the
shop and, while concealing them from Jimmy, arranges to see
him later that night. |
|
But brother Matthew is getting increasingly suspicious and
asks him where he was the previous evening as he went round
to Home Farm to see him and he wasn’t there. Jimmy tells
him that he went to see a film, but Matthew is still suspicious
and makes him go out for a drink with him after work. |
|
No longer able to see Charity that night, he heads over to
the B&B to tell her. She’s busy going through the
previous day’s video tape. He offers to take her out
to a fancy restaurant the following night for Valentine’s
Day, but she plays it beautifully and tells him, ‘I only
need you, I don’t want anything else.’ They arrange
instead to have a quiet meal at Home Farm. |
|
Elsewhere, Steph is causing trouble as she walks in on Ethan
and a newly-widowed parishioner talking about her husband.
Clearly upset the widow leaves immediately, much to the frustration
of Ethan. |
|
He quickly tells Steph off for barging in, but she tells
him that she’s always been in the way. It makes her start
thinking about what she’s going to do and where she’s
going to go, but Ethan tells her that she can stay for as long
as she needs. She thanks him and tells him that she doesn’t
think there is anywhere else she can go anyway. |
|
Later Ethan and Ashley think up a project for her and ask
her if she will provide the catering for the upcoming village
hall dances. She’s delighted and starts planning as Ashley
and Ethan make a quick escape to the pub.
|
|
There, Jimmy and Matthew are having their pint as Charity
walks in and starts talking to Chas. Matthew comments, ‘she’s
very pleasing to the eye’. Jimmy refuses to take the
bait from his prying brother and simply replies, ‘Yeah,
it’s a shame Sadie proved her to be a treacherous cow.’ |
|
Meanwhile, Charity asks Chas to keep hold of the spare tape
of her and Jimmy together and tells her cousin what her plan
is. Chas is horrified and tells her that she doesn’t
want anything to do with it. |
|
But Charity is clearly desperate and begs Chas to change
her mind. The barmaid is concerned what the impact will have
on Debbie and is disgusted that Charity hasn’t thought
it through properly. She tells Chas that she’ll be leaving
the village anyway and will take Debbie with her. Chas eventually
agrees. |
