It’s the day after Paddy
and Viv’s shenanigans in the Post Office and Emily tells
her husband that he was moaning in his sleep for most of the
night. Worried, the vet quickly asks what he was saying, but
she said she couldn’t hear as it was so mumbled. She tells
him he must be stressed and asks him to have a coffee with her
later that day. But Paddy brushes her off leaving Emily to shout, ‘Well
blow you!’ before walking out in a strop.
It’s the day of the interviews at the Kings and Tamsin’s already
had hers. She goes to see Libby in the vets and asks her to give her a lift to
Hotten to do some shopping. Libby points out that she’s working so Tamsin
walks into the café and asks at the top of her voice if anyone there can
give her a lift! The cheek. She then spots Robert at the garage and manages to
persuade him to take her on a test drive – to Hotten by any chance?
Meanwhile, Marlon has become suspicious of Paddy and Viv when Donna tells him
about what she came back to find in the shop the previous day. She questions
whether a rabbit would be able to do so much damage, but when she mentions that
Paddy was there helping her mum Marlon begins to smell a very dirty rat.
The chef goes to see his friend and demands to know what’s going on. Paddy
plays the innocent, but Marlon is having none of it and asks, ‘Are you
now, or have you ever been, philandering with Viv Windsor?’ Paddy denies
it, ‘frankly I find the very idea laughable’, but he doesn’t
sound convincing. Marlon replies, ‘Ok, I believe you because I don’t
think you’d lie to either me or Emily, would you?’

Elsewhere and Donna, Dawn and Katie have their interviews. Donna’s begins
very badly as evil Matthew questions the amount of experience she has as a shop
girl. She makes to leave and apologises for wasting his and Tom’s time,
but the old gent stops her and makes her break down what she does in the shop,
which is actually quite impressive in terms of what they need. But will it be
enough?

Having already worked for the Kings before, Katie knows what to expect from
her interview, Tom even tells her that she was excellent when she worked for
them. But none of them know why Sadie sacked her and when they ask her about
it she tells them she doesn’t want to criticise her former boss. Will
they let bygones be bygones?
It seems they will for later that day they tells her she’s got the job,
much to Donna’s disappointment. Katie goes to the pub to find Robert only
to see that he’s taken Tamsin shopping. He admits he had the wool pulled
over his eyes and the little minx didn’t want to buy a car from him in
the first place. Unlike Donna, Tamsin simply doesn’t care that she didn’t
hold onto her job at the Kings.
Paul pops in to see Emily at the shop and what Paddy thought of her new look
the previous night. But the disheartened girl tells him that Paddy didn’t
even notice, and admits she was angry. Viv listens on, the guilt on her face
to clear for all to see (except clueless Emily that is).
Paul is appalled with Paddy and can’t help but tell the vet in the pub
later that evening that he’s not paying enough attention to Emily. But
Paddy barely hears him as he sees Viv head out the door beckoning him to follow…
Marlon spots the exchange and is quick to go after them, but not before they
have a chat outside the toilets where they tell each other that their passion
in the shop the previous day must not happen again. But they both agree that
they enjoyed it as they share a cheeky smile and disappear into their separate
toilets just as Marlon is about to interrupt them. But the chef’s not stupid…
