Sadie’s rocked when Jimmy leaves her high and dry
ITV1 Network
7:00 PM to 7:30 PM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sadie’s (Patsy Kensit) money-grabbing plans are left in ruins
when Jimmy’s (Nick Miles) solicitor reveals the real extent of
his tattered finances. Sadie is unwilling to believe that Jimmy’s
financial situation is so poor and determined to get her fair share
of the Kings’ cash she tries a different tack and arranges to
meet her husband in the Woolpack.

Sadie is left reeling when Jimmy triumphantly
reveals that he’s
been welcomed back into the King fold and that she won’t get
a penny out of them.
Sadie is shattered as the realisation hits home that
she is no longer part of the family and she leaves feeling completely
alone.
Meanwhile, Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) faces an uphill struggle to keep
her relationship with a reluctant Simon (Dale Meeks) on track. She
invites him for a meal with her and a friend the following evening
but he is clearly not keen.
Elsewhere, Dawn (Julia Mallam) worries about her finances when her
earning potential is hindered by her inability to drive. Will she be
able to find a suitable instructor?

After her ‘conversation’ with
Jimmy in the pub the previous day, Sadie tells Zoe that she needs
to get a solicitor as she told Jimmy she has a top-notch one
ready to take his money. Zoe recommends her old solicitor Rachel.

Sadie asks how good she is, but Zoe is quite non-committal. She
soon reveals
to Sadie that she and Rachel ‘had a thing’ which didn’t end
too well. When Rachel arrives later that day they both apologise to each other
about the things they said and agree to have another chat after Sadie’s
business has been dealt with.

But it’s not great news. Rachel has called Jimmy’s solicitors who
tells her that Jimmy is virtually broke! Sadie can’t believe it, ‘he’s
loaded, I’ve seen his bank accounts’. But it seems Jimmy’s
gambling habit was particularly bad this year and he’s lost a lot of money
(and of course he had a certain blackmail settlement to deal with!)

Sadie vows that she won’t let her husband get away with giving her nothing,
but Rachel warns her that if that’s the case then she should prepare herself
for a long and drawn out battle.

As Rachel leaves, Zoe catches up with her and tells her she’s feeling better
than she ever has done and knows a lot more about herself and what she wants.
She tells her that she’s ready to go out more and meet people and asks
her if she’d like to go with her.

But much to her disappointment Rachel tells her that she’s now seeing
someone, but reminds her that she’s beautiful and that she shouldn’t
give up hope of finding someone.

Meanwhile, it’s Jimmy’s first day back at the office, much to Matthew’s
surprise, who is quick to ask both Jimmy and Tom what’s going on. But the
father and son first have a discussion about Jimmy’s return and the terms
and conditions.

Tom is surprised to hear that Jimmy is willing to take a pay cut and work on
a performance-related scheme. But then the penny drops and Tom realises that
Jimmy is not doing it out of the goodness of his heart, but rather to show a
reduced income so that Sadie can’t get hold of his money. Clever boy! Tom’s
not bothered though and agrees that Jimmy is doing the right thing.

Concerned that she’s not going to get anything from Jimmy, she calls her
estranged husband and tells him she wants to have a chat. They meet in the pub
later and Jimmy is very friendly and civil (what’s he up to?), he even
tells her how lovely she’s looking and buys her a drink.

But when the rest of the Kings walk in he drops the nicey-nicey act and with
a bottle of champagne in his hands he tells her that he’s now back in the
family firm, ‘So it’s now poor little Sadie out in the cold and that’s
where you’re staying. You won’t get a penny out of me.’ Tom
tells him to back off and Sadie leaves just as he pops the cork on the bottle.
