TUESDAY 4 MAY 2004 7.00 TO 7.30PM ITV1 Review :- Scott is gutted to learn that he may have driven Zoe away. Ethan leaves Shadrach with a sour taste in his mouth.
Robert tells Andy he and Katie are in love. Katie (Sammy Winward) finally finds the courage to walk out on her husband and leaves her wedding ring with a letter to Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) before being picked up by Chas (Lucy Pargeter). Halfway to the railway station she decides that she owes it to Andy to tell him face-to-face and insists that they turn back. Meanwhile Andy arrives home and sees the letter from Katie. As he sits and reads it in silence, tears of disbelief fall down his face. He immediately phones his Dad, but when Robert (Karl Davies) hears him leaving a message he answers the phone and races to his distraught brother’s side.
As they talk, Katie appears and tells Andy she couldn’t leave without saying goodbye. Robert can bear it no longer and takes Katie’s hand, insisting they tell Andy the truth. Robert turns to his brother and confesses that he and Katie are in love. How will Andy react to this shattering betrayal? Zoe (Leah Bracknell) tells Scott (Ben Freeman) that she and Jean (Meg Johnson) are going away to Brussels. She insists the trip is not because of him, and they part on good terms, but Scott is sad to watch her go. Will the break give Zoe the chance to contemplate a relationship with Scott? Elsewhere in the village, Ethan (Liam O’Brien) discovers the missing communion wine and confronts Shadrach (Andy Devine) about the theft. Ethan agrees to give him a second chance if Shadrach will attend bible studies. Ethan later craftily refills the communion wine bottle with vinegar, and Shadrach gets an unpleasant surprise when he goes for a sneaky drink.
