Review :- Disaster turns to delight as Charity finally gets her man. Tension brews for Scott and Zoe as they misread each other’s signals. Donna accepts Danny’s apology but embraces girl power in the process.
Zoe confides in Paddy, telling him about her growing feelings for Scott. The morning after the night before and fiery Charity (Emma Atkins) is mortified by her outburst at the dinner party the night before, but is determined to show her face at work no matter what the consequences. Meanwhile, Sadie (Patsy Kensit) and Tom (Ken Farrington) take a walk to clear their hangovers from the day before and mull over the events of the evening. Sadie admits Charity is a loose cannon, Tom finds himself agreeing. Later at work, a further altercation with Sadie finally tips Charity over the edge and she loses her rag. In a fit of fury she trashes the office, defacing the mirror with the words “I quit” in red lipstick. As she goes to let Tom’s car tyres down he returns and witnesses her wild tantrum. Tom can’t believe his eyes as he surveys the office, which is covered in shredded documents. Elsewhere in the village, Zoe (Leah Bracknell) confides in Paddy (Dominic Brunt) about her growing feelings for Scott (Ben Freeman). Dubious, Paddy asks her if she is sure of her feelings, given her sexuality. Zoe explains that she feels comfortable with Scott, is lonely when he’s not there and he is good with the kids, Paddy accepts Zoe’s reasoning but is sceptical. Could this be the beginning of a blossoming romance between Scott and Zoe? Chas (Lucy Pargeter) becomes increasingly annoyed that Colleen and the kids seem to be ruining her love life. She wants to go away for the weekend, but Carl can’t leave due to responsibilities to his wife and kids, leaving Chas frustrated. An extra story was introduced obviously to make way for an absence by Steve Halliwell. The character of Zak was not on screen during this episode and will not be seen again until further notice. He had an upcoming story in the next few episodes which had to be rewritten. The story was set in motion with this episode when Lisa came down to breakfast to discover Zak was gone.
