Monday 24th May 2004 ITV1 Review :- The truth of the shooting leaves Jack reeling, is it the end of the road for Andy? Marlon is trapped when Donna launches a major assault to land her man. Rodney prepares to drop a bombshell on Diane. Donna’s infatuation continues with Marlon. Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) is stunned to silence when Jack (Clive Hornby) demands he tell the truth about firing the gun. Incensed, Jacks tells his son to stop playing him for a fool and come clean. As the truth comes flooding out, Jack can’t believe how stupid Andy has been, explaining he could have shot Victoria (Hannah Midgley). The cracks begin to appear as Jack puts the pressure on. Andy finally breaks down as he admits he wanted both Robert (Karl Davies) and Katie (Sammy Winward) dead.
Jack remains impassive as the tears roll down his son’s remorseful face. He still can’t believe that Andy had cold-blooded murder in mind. In the corridor, the police wait like vultures watching their every move. However, Andy’s pleas fall on deaf ears as Jack admits to Diane (Liz Estensen) that it’s time trigger-happy Andy faced up to his responsibilities and decides to tell the police the truth about the shooting. Does a future behind bars beckon for Andy?
Meanwhile, infatuated Donna (Verity Rushworth) continues to make a nuisance of herself around Marlon (Mark Charnock), who is beginning to be freaked out by her obsession. Word soon gets out amongst the villagers that Val (Charlie Hardwick) and Rodney (Patrick Mower) have been having an affair and it’s only a matter of time before Diane finds out and goes ballistic. Rodney and Val agree they are going to have to let the cat out of the bag, but dread her reaction to their news.
