Review :-

Charity learns to her cost that Sadie is more than just a pretty face.

Tom is furious as a passionate Chas and Carl get carried away in public.

The village is surprised when a familiar face arrives to cater Tom's party.

Charity (Emma Atkins) is furious as Sadie (Patsy Kensit) takes over Tom’s party and treats her as hired staff, ordering her about. Glamorous Sadie is in her element as the centre of attention but still manages to put everyone in their place. She also uses Sam’s (James Hooton) instant obsession with her to her advantage and grills him on Charity’s history.

Chas and Carl end up behind a curtain getting into mischief. However, Chas loses her balance and falls through the curtain half-naked, giggling uncontrollably. She gets evicted from the party and drunkenly falls into the flowerbeds outside.

Marlon (Mark Charnock) is shocked when he spots Carlos (Gary Turner) in the marquee and finds out that he is doing the catering for the party, just as Nicola walks past and is gob smacked to see her ex-fiancé there.

Will fiery Nicola be able to able to hold her tongue and not cause a scene when she is confronted with the man who jilted her and had an affair with her sister?

As the party winds down, Sadie arranges everyone on the stairs to have some family pictures taken.

When Tom (Ken Farrington) insists that Charity should be in the pictures, Sadie sees red and pushes Charity down the stairs, before blaming Jimmy (Nick Miles) for the incident and feigning concern that Charity seems to have broken her arm in the fall.

Despite the good will at the party, Tom decides to start development on the cricket ground on Monday. How will the locals react when they realise the whole party was instigated to soften the blow?

ITV.COM Claws Out Tuesday 11.05.04 It doesn’t take long before war breaks out between Charity and Sadie King. Sadie strikes the first blow by treating Charity as a member of staff and asking her to collect glasses With Charity put in her place Sadie finds time to cut local bigwigs Eric and Rodney down to size. Sam, who has developed an instant crush on his glamorous new neighbour, unwittingly tells Sadie all she needs to know about Charity’s past. Charity manages to get in a swipe at Sadie after Sadie finds Charity and Tom getting very cosy in his office.

Sadie emerges victorious at the end of a hard day’s battle. When Tom arranges a family photo on the stairs and insists that Charity joins him at the bottom of the stairs Sadie pushes Charity hard down the stairs and immediately blames her husband Jimmy for accidentally pushing Charity. Tom remains oblivious to the war being waged between Charity and his fiery daughter in law.

Having been given a lecture before the party about not bringing Tom’s grandchildren along Carl decides the best course of action for getting through the party is to get as drunk as possible with Chas, who gets a frosty reception when introduced to Tom. Carl gets so drunk that he lets slip that the bulldozers will be moving in Monday and Jarvis and an angry deputation confront Tom King as they leave. Carl and Chas cause further embarrassment for the Kings and for Charity when the half-naked couple tumble onto the stage where the band is playing.

Marlon is surprised but delighted to come across Carlos at the do. Nicola is shocked to find that her ex is doing the catering for the party and introduces him to Simon before making a sharp exit. Marlon later confesses that Carlos’s cooking was so good he is thinking of throwing in his culinary towel.
