FRIDAY 26 MARCH 2004 7.00 – 7.30PM ITV1 Charity is shocked into defiance when Zoe makes her an unexpected
offer. Charity is forced to go back to prison. At the hospital, Noah appears to be on the mend and is responding well to treatment, which is great news for Charity (Emma Atkins). However, she is feeling down, as his improvement also means she will be carted back to jail imminently. The prison van turns up and Charity is informed it is time to leave. After a screaming row, she is handcuffed and taken away. Robert (Karl Davies) worries that he may now have Chlamydia and that he may have infected Katie (Sammy Winward), meaning that Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) is also at risk. The prospect of the infection exposing their affair weighs heavily on his mind. Not surprisingly Katie is furious when she learns the truth from Robert, and an argument ensues. They realise they are both going to have to get tested quickly, hoping the infection has spread no further. With her father in prison and her mother on her way back to jail, Debbie (Charley Webb) is disconsolate as she finds Ethan (Liam O’Brien) in the church. Ethan is happy to spend time with her, trying to take her mind off things. Ashley (John Middleton) later worries that people may assume there is something inappropriate about their relationship and warns Ethan to keep their friendship within the professional boundaries. Ethan is insulted by Ashley’s suggestion.
