TUESDAY 23 MARCH 2004 7.00 TO 7.30PM ITV1 Review
The identity of Noah’s father is finally revealed. Debbie (Charley Webb) and Charity (Emma Atkins) struggle to take in the news that Noah is going to have to undergo an operation. Looking at the tiny baby, Charity can’t help but wonder whether it is worth putting him through it. The doctor assures her it is. Adding fuel to the fire, the results of the paternity test arrive at the Dingles’. Zak (Steve Halliwell) is about to rip the letter open when Lisa (Jane Cox) points out that Charity should see it first. [see below under the ITV.COM update if you want to know who the Daddy is.] Meanwhile, Marlon (Mark Charnock) goes to the hospital to see baby Noah, but his visit is interrupted when Cain (Jeff Hordley) appears in the doorway handcuffed to a guard. Zak arrives with the test results, and with two of the potential fathers present, Charity is forced to announce the identity of Noah’s father. How will the Dingle’s react when the truth is finally revealed? Jarvis (Richard Moore) begins his historical search into genealogy and gets a shock when he discovers Edna’s (Shirley Stelfox) grandmother was a common prostitute. He and Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) collapse in hysterics at their findings, but can Jarvis bring himself to tell Edna? Donna (Verity Rushworth) opens an official looking letter and is left feeling concerned. She tries to talk to Katie (Sammy Winward) who seems disinterested and suggests she speak to her mum. Donna attempts to confide in Robert (Karl Davies) but he is only interested in taking her to bed. She is left feeling frustrated and alone.
