Review
Charity goes into premature labour, leaving the Dingles in a state of shock. Laurel makes a sacrifice for love as Ashley promises to serve up a romantic meal for two. Zoe makes a bid to undercut her mystery competitors.

Charity collapses in prison and is rushed to hospital for an emergency caesarean.

Six months into her pregnancy and serving a life sentence for a murder she didn’t commit, incarcerated Charity (Emma Atkins) feels unwell during a meeting with her solicitor. He informs her they have a date for the appeal, but warns her not to get too excited as no new evidence has come to light and things are still not looking good.

Taking a sudden turn for the worse, the prison warden calls an ambulance when Charity collapses in her cell. Charity fears for the baby’s life. She is rushed into hospital and told that a health condition means she requires an emergency caesarean.

With more that three months left to go with the pregnancy, the Dingles wait nervously at the hospital as Charity is rushed into theatre for the emergency procedure. Will the tiny baby survive the ordeal?

Scott (Ben Freeman) shows Tom (Ken Farrington) around Holdgate Farm and he is so impressed he offers a vast sum to buy it outright. Once again, Zoe (Leah Bracknell) refuses his generous offer, insisting that the property is available to rent only.

Elsewhere in the village, Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) goes to great lengths to impress Ashley (John Middleton). When he cooks her seafood for dinner, she can’t bring herself to admit that she is allergic to it.

After an unfortunate reaction to the dish, she is forced to make a sharp exit and hurry home.

ITV.COM An Anxious Wait Monday 01.03.04 Things go from bad to even worse for Charity. Not only is she pregnant and doing life for a murder she didn’t commit, she hears some more bad news from her solicitor. He tells her that a date has been set for her appeal, but no new evidence has come to light to help her case. Clutching her sides she collapses on her way back to her cell and has to be rushed to hospital. Debbie and Zak face an anxious wait as Charity undergoes an emergency caesarean. They are relieved to learn that both mother and her baby boy have survived the op, but the little lad only weighs two pounds and will face a battle to survive.

Zoe takes the man from the council out to lunch to put him in the picture about the attacks on Tate Trucks. He’s not exactly sympathetic and says that he only has her word to go on and can’t see how these ‘extenuating’ circumstances have anything to do with the tendering for the refuse contract. Meanwhile, Tom King has a look around Holdgate Farm and is so impressed he offers Zoe 500 grand cash to buy it outright. Once again, Zoe refuses his generous offer, insisting that the property is available to rent only.

Ashley is struggling to write a lecture on the Synoptic Gospels and Laurel offers to lend a hand by listening to a dry run and telling him which bits are the boring bits. To say ‘thank you’ Ashley says he will cook her dinner. Laurel’s face drops when she learns she will be eating a fish pie, which will contain prawns. Not wanting to hurt Ashley’s feelings she does her best to eat the dreaded pie, but it’s obvious she has a problem with prawns. As soon as the meal’s over she makes her excuses and leaves as quickly as she can leaving Ashley wondering what he's done wrong.
