Nicola revisits her reunion in a desperate bid
to turn back the clock with Simon.
Nicola publicly confesses her sins
Down on life, Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) hatches a plan to win Simon (Dale Meeks) back. After a flurry of phone calls, she organises a party at Mill Cottage, promising everyone that she has some interesting news. Having burned many bridges the day before, most villagers are reluctant to come but agree under duress.
Later, the party is crowded with friends old and new, and even a sheepish Simon hovers awkwardly in the corner. Nicola calls for everyone’s attention and begins a heartfelt speech.
Guests are shocked when she admits that her lies and deceit have lost her everything that means anything to her. She then goes on to declare her love for Simon in front of the crowd and apologises for her selfish behaviour.
A previously peeved Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) is jubilant as Nicola lays her heart on the line for love. However, stone-faced Simon remains cold. Will he be able to forgive her and put their troubles behind them?
At Home Farm, rivalry continues between Charity (Emma Atkins) and Sadie (Patsy Kensit) as they continue to bicker. After another bitter exchange, Charity finally thinks she has got one up on her adversary when she overhears her booking the honeymoon suite at an expensive hotel. Convinced she’s having an affair, Charity can’t wait to tarnish Sadie’s halo in front of the Kings. Little does she know that Tom (Ken Farrington) has asked Sadie to book the room as romantic surprise for Charity.
Meanwhile, Ethan (Liam O’Brien) finds Debbie (Charley Webb) moping in the village, glum at the prospect of not being invited to Christopher’s christening. Sympathising with her situation, the Curate tentatively reminds her that although she is not strictly invited, the church is a place or worship and anybody is welcome.
