to 7:30 PM Review :- Robert is left reeling when Katie makes a momentous
decision about her future in the village…and with him. Katie leaves the village
After a run-in with Edna (Shirley Stelfox), Katie’s (Sammy Winward) feelings of detachment from the villagers are confirmed. She begins to wonder whether everyone would be better off without her and secretly decides to leave the village for good. Before fleeing Emmerdale, Katie tells Robert (Karl Davies) she loves him, but he is unaware of the significance of her words. She later writes letters for both Robert and Andy (Kelvin Fletcher), apologising for the heartache she has caused.
Later, Robert waits for Katie outside the exam hall until a friend explains that she didn’t show for the test. He races home only to discover her letter and is devastated by what he reads. Jack consoles a heartbroken Robert and tells him it’s time to move back home. Meanwhile, Andy reads the letter from his ex-wife and although upset he is relieved to see the back of her. Is this really the last the brothers will see of Katie? Elsewhere, Paddy (Dominic Brunt) almost puts his foot in it when he mentions wedding bells to Nicola (Nicola Wheeler). Sensing her confusion, Paddy asks Simon (Dale Meeks) what went wrong. He relays Nicola’s lie about the reunion and asserts Nicola obviously doesn’t feel the same way about him. Nicola becomes increasingly concerned when Simon avoids her, and worries that he may have found out about her evening with Syd (Nathan Gladwell). Will they finally communicate and overcome this confusion? Elsewhere, Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) worries about the lack of intimacy in her relationship with Ashley (John Middleton). She tries to broach the subject but gets flustered and tells him she loves him. They are interrupted when Ethan (Liam O’Brien) walks in asking if his fiancée can stay. Ashley is stunned, as Ethan has never mentioned a fiancée before. Meanwhile Laurel is left feeling frustrated!
