Christopher’s christening gives Zoe a change of heart
Charity (Emma Atkins) worries about Tom’s (Ken Farrington) mood as he reveals £200 has gone missing from the petty cash. As Charity returns the keys she found in her bag, Tom asks if she borrowed the money. Feeling she is being accused, Charity flies off the handle and walks out on her job and her man.
Knowing Sadie (Patsy Kensit) has set her up, Charity vows revenge. As the Kings drink in the Woolpack, Charity picks her moment before launching her tirade. She accuses Sadie of having an affair, revealing she overheard her booking a hotel room. Horrified, Tom puts Charity in her place, insisting that Sadie was booking the room on behalf of him as a surprise for her. Charity is mortified as she has been beaten again.
Meanwhile, Christopher’s (Alfie Mortimer) christening gives Zoe (Leah Bracknell) a change of heart as she agrees to let Debbie (Charley Webb) see her little brother. Ethan (Liam O’Brien) offers a thrilled Debbie a lift to Home Farm, and after spending time with the baby he drives her home. Debbie thanks him with a kiss on the cheek. Could Debbie be growing too fond of the curate?
Elsewhere, as Edna (Shirley Stelfox) suffers a nasty cough, Jarvis (Richard Moore) produces a homemade concoction, which he swears will unclog her tubes. Len (Peter Martin) takes the exlir to an initially dubious Edna, but after a couple of capfuls of medicine Edna’s cough amazingly disappears.
