Having established they both want to be more than friends, Zoe (Leah Bracknell) and Scott (Ben Freeman) decide to go on a date. Wanting to avoid the village gossips, Scott lays on a lavish spread in the garden. As the pair enjoy their afternoon, Scott leans in for a gentle kiss. They are interrupted by a furious Chloe (Amy Nuttall), who decides that the best revenge will be to spread news of their unconventional relationship all over the village. Over at the Dingles’, Lisa (Jane Cox) is adamant that Zak (Steve Halliwell) will not be returning to Chile. He eventually backs down, but after a heart-to-heart Lisa realises that she can trust her husband and agrees to let him go. Zak is ecstatic. Note this story was altered in the final cut obviously to make way for an absence by Steve Halliwell. The character of Zak had not been seen on screen for some days. The script began to deviate from the officially released synopsis around Friday 28th May 2004 with Zak reportedly going off somewhere before breakfast without being seen. Only Sam knew where he was and it took until this episode, Tuesday 1st for Lisa to get to the bottom of the fact he was in Chile. She is now happy with the idea. Meanwhile, Tom (Ken Farrington) gives his son a ticking off before Carl (Tom Lister) and Chas (Lucy Pargeter) head off to court after their explicit liaison. Elsewhere in the village, Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) invites Syd (Nathan Gladwell) to her school reunion, certain that he will make more of an impact than her fishmonger boyfriend, Simon (Dale Meeks). Is Chas worth all the trouble? Later, Scott and Zoe put on a united front as they go to pub to confront the village gossips. How will they be received?
