-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Carl (Tom Lister) is stressed as he awaits delivery of the letter that Chas (Lucy Pargeter) has sent to his dad with the Polaroid photos. To make matters worse, as Paul (Matthew Booth) arrives with the mail, Matthew (Matt Healy) snatches the envelope and decides to keep them as a hold over Carl. Chas is still in the doghouse over the incident and her subsequent bad temper leads to a row with Diane (Elizabeth Estensen). She tries to apologise to Carl but her words fall on deaf ears. Later Chas drowns her sorrows at the Woolpack having realised how much he means to her. Can the pair re-kindle their romance?
Meanwhile Charity (Emma Atkins) starts to move her belongings into Holdgate Farm. Refusing to be beaten, Sadie (Patsy Kensit) decides to turn on the charm by announcing that she has begun organising their engagement party. Elsewhere Dawn’s (Julia Mallam) mum Jean (Julie Higginson) arrives in the village but has nowhere to stay and Nicola (Nicola Wheller) attempts to cook a gourmet meal to impress Simon (Dale Meeks) and his mum Lesley (Sherrie Hewson).
