EMMERDALE Review :- Alan’s down after Shelly’s flit but Steph assures him it’s for the best, while muddying Shelly’s name in the village. Edna gives Sam pause for thought. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sam prepares to do a runner to avoid prison Jarvis (Richard Moore) is shocked when Edna (Shirley Stelfox) tells him she advised the police that Sam (James Hooton) did not steal the money from her after knocking her down. Edna explains that Sam should not be punished for something he didn’t do. Meanwhile Sam is feeling gloomy about leaving Emmerdale despite Lisa (Jane Cox) and Marlon’s (Mark Charnock) attempts to raise his spirits. Later Sam asks Marlon if he is being a coward by running away but Marlon assures him he isn’t. Natasha (Sally Evans) apologises to Simon (Dale Meeks) for causing problems with Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) and admits she is pleased he has found happiness with someone else. As Simon kisses her on the cheek to say thanks, Nicola watches in disbelief. Seeing red, she is desperate to drive Natasha out of town and begins spreading rumours about her fish and chip van having problems with environmental health. When the news travels back to Simon, he is appalled by Nicola’s vicious behaviour and tells her it is over between them. Can she talk him round?
Elsewhere in the village, Steph (Lorraine Chase) tries to take Turner’s (Richard Thorp) mind off Shelly (Carolyn Pickles) and the trip to Spain but heartbroken Turner doesn’t want to know.
