Review :-

In light of Tom’s proposal, Charity revels in being able to put Sadie in her place.

Carl and Paul come to blows when Chas gets saucy.

Steph’s plan starts to backfire as Shelly has a rethink.

Carl and Paul come to blows

Tom (Ken Farrington) gathers the King clan together and shocks them by announcing his engagement to Charity (Emma Atkins).

Later, Charity tells Tom she is happy to sign a pre-nuptial agreement and feigns surprise when he tells her they are not recognised by the law in the UK.

Sadie (Patsy Kensit) quietly warns Charity that Tom will soon find out what she’s up to, but is left fuming when Charity triumphantly points out that she will soon be her mother-in-law.

Meanwhile, as Carl (Tom Lister) insists he’s not afraid of his dad, Chas (Lucy Pargeter) calls his bluff by threatening to show Tom the nude Polaroids. She takes it one step too far by addressing the pictures to Tom before popping them into the post box.

Furious Carl asks Paul (Matthew Booth) to retrieve the envelope, but Paul refuses, knowing it’s more that his job’s worth. In a rage, Carl thumps an innocent Paul, leaving Siobhan (Abigail Fisher) livid and Chas dumbstruck.

Elsewhere, Steph (Lorraine Chase) is smug that the expedition to Spain is off until Shelly (Carolyn Pickles) finds renewed courage and tells Turner (Richard Thorp) the trip is back on.

ITV.COM The Happy Couple Friday 02.07.04 Tom and Charity’s good news is not good news for Sadie whose face is a picture when she arrives back at Holdgate Farm to find her bitter rival wearing her father-in-law's ring. While Sadie puts on a brave face for Tom and raises a toast to the happy couple she is quick to threaten Charity, telling her that she knows what she’s up to and she’s not going to let her get hold of Tom’s money. Putting her in her place Charity reminds a furious Sadie that she is about to become her mother-in-law.

Carl plays with fire when he dares Chas to post their naughty photos to his dad. Thinking that she’d be too embarrassed to post them Carl is in for a shock when she pops the envelope in the village post box. Carl waits anxiously for Paul to arrive to collect the post. When he arrives Paul winds Carl up saying that it’s a criminal offence to tamper with the Royal Mail. Thinking that Paul’s being serious Carl thumps him. Chas is not impressed and as Siobhan leads Paul away bleeding Chas and Carl have a major row. Chas tells Carl is just a little daddy's boy.

Steph’s intimidation of Shelly backfires when she bullies her into having a birthday drink with her. Lisa congratulates Shelly on her decision to move to Spain and Shelly has to tell her the trip is off while Steph makes a snide remark about Alan and Shelly being mistaken for a couple of beached whales if they were ever seen sunbathing together. Lisa says she doesn’t know how Shelly puts up with Steph. Shelly has had enough and walks out and goes to tell Alan that the trip to Spain is back on and Steph will just have to live with it.
