Airing on ITV1
Val comforts Diane as she sheds a tear over the late Tricia. Thinking
her bruised sibling is obviously in trouble, Diane is glad to have
Val stay and has got used to the idea of having her younger sister
around
again.
Unfortunately the truce doesn’t last long as the truth behind
Val’s bruising unfolds when an unfamiliar face comes looking for
Val at the Woolpack, Diane is quick to presume he is responsible for
her injuries.
Guns blazing, Diane is about to give the ex-boyfriend a taste of his
own medicine when it transpires Val borrowed money from Eugene to pay
for plastic surgery and is now on the run so she doesn’t have to
pay the debt back!
Diane can’t believe her ears, having previously taken pity on
her sister for having been beaten up. She is initially furious and makes
it pretty clear that she wants Val out.
However, just as disconsolate Val is about to leave the village, Diane
has a change of heart and they agree to try and make amends.
Meanwhile, as the big day draws closer, both Andy and Katie admit they
are nervous about the impending wedding. Jack manages to help take the
pressure off, by telling them he will pay for Victoria’s bridesmaid
dress.

| Andy and
Robert's exploits have brought them unwelcome attention.
During a talk about the wedding Ashley is fixated
on Andy's hangover, whereas Jack accuses Robert
of having a lady on the go. After last night Andy
also needs Robert to get the shopping from leopard-undercarriaged
Viv's. Meanwhile Katie is getting edgy, overreacting
to Donna's comments about the Sugden boys, and
panicking about how much the wedding is costing.
She's not the only one - Robert is getting jealous
of all the cash being spent on Andy. |

| Simon has left
Nicola's head spinning, and Paddy can't work out
whether he's amused or cross that someone else is
having rings run around them. Nicola is taken for
an exclusive meal at Simon's restaurant, but she
gets miffed when she finds out it was closed to customers
because he was trying a new menu on her. She tells
Simon she feels cheap and used, which he says might
come later if she behaves. After a passionate kiss
he's gone into the night, leaving her tingling with
anticipation. |

| Elsewhere,
Val's explanation for her bruises seems flimsy,
but Diane risks letting her stay until she's on
her feet again. However, Val's excitement is interrupted
by the arrival of her ex Eugene. Diane wasn't expecting
someone jolly in glasses, but lays into him anyway
- only to be handed the bill for Val's nosejob,
which she finds hysterical. She is less amused
when she finds her mother's engagement ring in
Val's jewellery box - something she had always
wanted but Val had said was lost. Diane lets rip,
accusing her sister of robbing both her and her
father, and Val leaves in tears. However, Marlon
later brings Diane the ring with a note saying
'wear this with pride'. Sobbing Diane curses her
sister, and all the damage she did to her and Rodney,
but still has to catch Val at the bus stop and
bring her back home. |
