Pearl accepts Len's marriage proposal

From YTV EMMERDALE Wednesday 18 February 2004 at 7.00pm on ITV1 Network Pearl (MEG JOHNSON) agrees to marry Len (PETER MARTIN).

After the wedding of the year, all the locals gather at the reception in the village hall with Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) and Katie (Sammy Winward).

Devastated by the outcome of the ceremony, Robert (Karl Davies) quickly hits the whisky and Jack (Clive Hornby) is appalled to find his son throwing up outside.

After a long and emotional day, bridesmaid Donna (Verity Rushworth) finally gets her way with love rat Robert, when in a drunken stupor he takes advantage of her affections and leads her home to bed.

Elsewhere in the village, Scott (Ben Freeman) hits a brick wall as he tries to identify who sabotaged the Tate trucks. Convinced the Dingles are behind the mayhem, he is left frustrated when he can find no evidence to support his suspicions.

Pearl (Meg Johnson) decides to put grumpy Len (Peter Martin) out of his misery and agrees to marry him. Overjoyed, they celebrate their engagement by dancing the night away.

Robert gives his Best Man speech
At Andy and Katieís wedding reception best man Robert hits the sauce and turns nasty as he comes to terms with the fact that his brother has married the girl he loves. Robert has a go at Daz before staggering outside to throw up. He manages to pull himself together to deliver his best manís speech and gets the speech off to a great start by smashing a champagne glass as he taps it to get people to be quiet. He manages to get through his speech without revealing his true feelings for Katie, but only just.
Pearl and Len
Itís good news for Len as Pearl tells him at the wedding reception that she will marry him. Elated, the happy couple get down on the dancefloor like a pair of spring lambs. Thereís not such good news for Donna though, when Robert seduces her. They sneak back to Robertís to go to bed, only for Andy and Katie to burst in on them. Later at the end of the reception Robert tells a disappointed Donna that the partyís over. Donnaís not the only one who is upset. Catching Robert in bed with Donna leaves Katie looking tearful.
Scott and Zoe
Scott hits a brick wall as he tries to identify who sabotaged the Tate trucks. Convinced the Dingles are behind the mayhem, he is left frustrated when he can find no evidence to support his suspicions. Zoe Tate then gives Scott a hard time for letting Ďthose idiotsí the Dingles get the better of him. Zoe lets Scott know that if they council take away their contract it will all be his fault.
