Ashley's rejection results in Laurel packing her bags to leave the village
EMMERDALE is a hive of activity as the locals prepare for Andy (Kelvin
Fletcher) and Katie’s (Sammy Winward) wedding. Meanwhile, Robert
(Karl Davies) has other things on his mind but is taken by surprise when
Donna (Verity Rushworth) gives him a passionate thank-you kiss for the
Valentine’s card she thinks that he sent her.
Despite the distraction, Robert begins to panic as he prepares to watch
the woman he loves get married to his brother. Time is running out if
she is to call off the wedding.
In desperation, Robert tries to make the bride-to-be see reason, begging
her to cancel the big day. Frustrated and torn between her feelings for
the two brothers, Katie insists to Robert that her wedding to Andy is
going ahead and that their affair is over.
Meanwhile, Nicola’s (Nicola Wheeler) last ditch attempts to convince
Ashley (John Middleton) to stop Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) from leaving
the village fall on deaf ears, as the Vicar refuses to acknowledge his
growing feelings for the dizzy cleaner.
Devastated that Ashley obviously doesn’t feel the same way, Laurel
sheds a tear as she packs up her belongings in preparation to move to
Finland. Will the Vicar realise he is about to make the biggest mistake
of his life by letting her go?
Elsewhere in the village, disaster strikes when Viv (Deena Payne) manages
to spill red wine down Katie’s wedding dress. White wine and salt
only make matters worse and with two days to go until the wedding, will
the bride be blushing in more ways than one when she walks down the aisle?

|It is Saint
Valentine’s Day in the village and Donna is delighted
to receive a mystery Valentine’s card, hand-delivered
by step-dad Bob, and immediately assumes that her
secret admirer must be Robert. Robert, however,
has other things on his mind. Refusing to accept
that his brother is marrying the woman he loves
he sends a dozen red roses to Katie. Katie is not
impressed and goes to see Robert and tells him
she will never forgive him if he ruins her big
day. He begs her not to marry Andy and she tells
him that he is pathetic.
|In a foul
mood Robert puts Donna straight, in no uncertain
terms, that the Valentine’s card is definitely
not from him. When Donna finds out that the card
was from Bob, who was just trying to cheer her
up she is really upset. To cheer her up Viv suggests
a glass of wine. After a couple of drinks Viv tells
Donna she should try on Katie’s wedding dress to
see what she’ll look like on her big day. Bob walks
in on the pair just as Donna is about to give a
twirl in the frock and Viv spills a glass of red
wine all over the wedding dress. It looks she’ll
have some explaining to do.
