Robert (Karl Davies) wakes on the morning of his birthday with a black eye and Jack (Clive Hornby) promptly marches him round to the farm to collect his belongings.

Robert concocts a story that he spent the previous evening dancing with a girl in a club and was punched by her boyfriend. Feeling betrayed, Donna (Verity Rushworth) slaps him and bursts into tears. Robert explains that he is moving out because Donna doesn’t want him there and with a little convincing from Katie (Sammy Winward), Donna decides to move back to her mum’s.

Later, as Robert makes his peace with Victoria (Hannah Midgley), Katie sees him and tells him she misses him. Jack catches them talking and sends Katie away, but Robert finally confesses that he loves her. Jack tells him to choose between her and his family. Is Robert willing to give up everything to be with Katie?

Shelly (Carolyn Pickles) becomes suspicious as Steph (Lorraine Chase) negotiates a rate for packing mobile phones on the side. Steph later gets a shock when Pollard (Christopher Chittell) calls informing her that he is returning from his trip. Will he discover what she has been up to in his absence?

Elsewhere, Ethan (Liam O’Brien) cheers up a depressed Debbie (Charley Webb) and in return she helps him clean his car, which results in a water fight. Ashley (John Middleton) turns up at the wrong time and ends up with a bucket off water over him. He later tells Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) that he doesn’t think Ethan’s friendship with Debbie is appropriate.

Donna and Robert
Robertís eighteenth birthday is not one heís likely to forget in a hurry. Sporting an impressive looking black eye he is marched around to the farm by Jack to collect his things. With Donna worried sick about where heís been Robert has some explaining to do. He concocts a story about being out in a club and getting hit by the boyfriend of a girl he was dancing with. Donna feels humiliated when Robert says that he snogged the girl and gives Robert a slap. Robert announces that he is moving out because itís over between him and Donna.
Jack catches Robert and Katie together
Katie manages to convince Donna that she should go home and get away from the farm and her memories of Robert. Andy is confused when Katie tells him they have the place to themselves before making her excuses and leaving. Later, as Robert makes his peace with Victoria, Katie sees him and tells him she misses him. Jack catches them talking and sends Katie away, but Robert finally confesses that he loves her. Jack tells him that he must choose between his family and Katie.
Ethan and Debbie
Debbie and Ethan spend more time together. Ethan is concerned that Debbie is playing truant, but Debbie assures the curate that she will learn more spending time with him than she will at school. Ethan suggests to Debbie that she writes a letter to Noah and sends it to Zoe, so Noah can read it when he is older and understand that his sister cares for him. Debbie believes it may be in vain because Zoe will just destroy the letter. Ashley tells her Zoe might be more sympathetic than she thinks because she once wrote a letter to Jean when she planned to have her adopted.
