IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE
Marlon Dingle Mark Charnock
FRIDAY 16 APRIL 2004 7.00 – 7.30PM ITV1
Carrie calls the police when Marlon’s obsession with her escalates out of control.
Deluded Marlon (Mark Charnock) is still convinced that spending time with Carrie (Laura Crossley) is like being closer to Tricia (Sheree Murphy) and continues to harass her, oblivious to the grief he is causing.
It’s the final straw for Carrie when he turns up again and begins to talk to her as if she’s Tricia, offering to make her lunch. Fearing his next step, she calls the police.
Clueless Marlon can’t understand what is going on when the police escort him outside and into the car. He helplessly tries to assure Carrie he didn’t mean to scare her and that they can work things out.
Elsewhere in the village, Jack (Clive Hornby) is angry when he overhears Viv (Deena Payne) gossiping about Victoria (Hannah Midgley). Meanwhile Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) tries to coax her into speaking by getting Victoria to help him feed the lambs.
Later, Jarvis (Richard Moore) calls round to the Sugdens to see if he can help. He produces a ventriloquist’s dummy called Alfie and introduces it to Victoria. Jack is sceptical, but Jarvis manages to get a smile out of Victoria. He leaves the dummy behind for her to look after.
Fired-up Charity (Emma Atkins) gets ready for her first day in her new job determined to make a good impression. She does her best to work hard, despite some snide comments from Jimmy (Nick Miles) when Tom (Ken Farrington) introduces her to him as their new secretary.
Later, Charity is rude to someone on the phone and apologises when she later finds out it was Sadie, Jimmy’s wife. Jimmy warns her not to get on the wrong side of Sadie.
