Dawn (Julia Mallam) listens in disbelief as her manipulative mother tells her she should hit Terry (Billy Hartman) for maintenance while he is still recovering from the custody verdict.

Meanwhile, Terry tells Ashley (John Middleton) he wishes he’d never set eyes on Dawn so that he wouldn’t have to go through the pain of losing his son.

Dawn later confirms that she is going to Spain and is shocked when Terry tells her that he intends to move there too in order to be close to TJ. After a pleasant chat about happier times Dawn begins to question whether she is doing the right thing. Will she change her mind?

Over at Jacob’s Fold, Pearl (Meg Johnson) calls a taxi but panics when Len (Peter Martin) walks in and pretends to be checking cinema times instead. Delighted, Len tells her he’ll go with her, forcing Pearl to change her plans. What is behind her mysterious behaviour?

Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) is hurt as her efforts to cook for the bishop go unnoticed. The ungrateful Bishop suggests Ashley (John Middleton) go for post-ordination training to make up for the spiritual stimulation he is missing at home.

Terry is over the moon at the thought of TJ’s return and busily prepares for his arrival, setting up play equipment in the garden and blowing up balloons to welcome him home. When Dawn walks through the door on her own Terry is livid and is not interested in her explanation. She tells him that TJ was not well enough to travel and has stayed behind with her mum. Dawn later confides in her dad that she plans to move Spain permanently. Terry can’t believe his ears, but agrees to promise not to tell Terry about her plans.
Lisa helps Sam prepare for prison by demonstrating the art of self-defence on Shadrach. Later Cain gets more than he bargained for when Sam thinks he is about to hit him and Sam puts what he's learned to good use. After going to court to see Sam get sent down for four months the Dingles mope in the Woolpack. When Zak walks through the door he is surprised to find his family so downcast. He is upset when he realises what has happened and he’s not been able to give Sam any moral support.
Cain, putting his family first for once, comes up with a plan to help Zak see Sam before he goes to prison. With Andy’s help the Dingles create a roadblock that will stop that prison van in its tracks. While the prison guards wait for Andy to shift his ‘broken down’ tractor Zak shouts to Sam through the window. Andy later confesses to Cain that if the farm doesn’t start making some money soon they will all be homeless.
Steph’s plans to make designer handbags at the factory continue apace and she sets about completely reorganising the place and giving Eric a hard time about time and motion. Annoyed that Alan has left Laurel in charge of the B&B instead of her Steph gives Laurel a hard time and makes her do most of the donkeywork.
