ITV.COM Kiss Me Quick? Wednesday 18.08.04
As Rodney and Diane are about to set off to Scarborough for Fred’s funeral Jack appears and presents Diane with a pair of expensive looking earrings as an early wedding present. As they drive off Val reminds Jack of her suspicions about Diane and Rodney’s trip. Jack tells her that she may have good reason to mistrust Rodney but he trusts Diane. When Rodney and Diane arrive at the seaside town they discover that the hotel only has one room for them. Diane takes the room and leaves Rodney to sort out some accommodation out for himself.
While Rodney and Diane explore some of their old haunts - and Diane polishes off the contents of the mini bar that she’s stashed in her bag - Val phones their hotel and the receptionist tells her that Mr and Mrs Blackstock are staying in the same room. Val immediately rushes to Jack’s and in front of Victoria announces that she is off to Scarborough to catch them at it. Meanwhile, Diane becomes angry with Rodney when he suggests having her fortune told. Diane later confesses to Rodney she is not worried about marrying Jack her real worry is having cancer.
To test whether or not Danny wants her around after letting her go from her job at the Antiques Barn Donna tells him that she is planning to go to university. Having lost Ollie to the world of higher education Danny is depressed at the thought of losing another girlfriend in the same way. Later, when she sees that Danny is upset Donna tells him that she was just testing him and has no intention of going to university. Danny is furious and tells Donna that he’s finished with her.
Emily and Marlon break the news to Nicola that Simon has left the village and gone to Scarborough, home of his ex, Tash. Nicola is devastated and returns home to Mill Cottage to get drunk and listen to music on her own. When Emily and Marlon find her in tears Marlon tells her that she should fight for her man and go to Scarborough and tell him she loves him. Nicola is inspired by Marlon’s words and assumes that he is offering to drive her to Scarborough.
Chloe refuses to give Carl up without a fight and prepares an impressive lunch for him and Chas. Carl is clearly impressed with Chloe’s culinary abilities and Chloe looks extremely pleased with herself as she listens on the stairs to Carl singing her praises in front of Chas, who can’t compete with her in the cooking department.
