Later, Rodney gets a call telling him that the best man from his wedding to Diane has died. Rodney is clearly upset, however he doesn’t expect Diane to take the news as badly as she does.
The grieving pair go back to Mill Cottage and Rodney asks emotional Diane if she has changed her mind about Jack. Diane claims she is just nervous but Rodney isn’t convinced.
A few brandys later Diane and Rodney roll up at the Woolpack and angry Val (Charlie Hardwick) is sure something is going on between them. Jack nervously takes Diane aside and asks her to be honest if she wants to call off the wedding. Could this be Diane’s way out?
Meanwhile, Donna (Verity Rushworth) is over the moon when she receives her ‘A’ Level results and discovers she has passed with flying colours. However, she comes down to earth with a bump when her overprotective mother panics that she might lose her little girl.
Viv (Deena Payne) decides to book Donna a holiday to Rome to try and put her off travelling. Donna is delighted until she realises Viv is intending to go with her. She asks if Danny (Cleveland Campbell) can go instead but Viv claims he won’t want to.
