THIS PROGRAMME IS SUBTITLED
IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE
PEdna Birch Shirley Stelfox
As the voices get worse, Zoe starts to think the world is against her. Edna gets suspicious when Pearl stops Len from visiting her son. Chloe sets her sights on Carl King.
Zoe’s (Leah Bracknell) nanny is concerned when she finds Jean (Meg Pearson) and Joseph (Oliver Young) have slept in their clothes in the living room but Zoe takes offence at her questioning and promptly sacks her.
Zoe later takes the children to the church but neglects them as she sits praying intensely. Paddy (Dominic Brunt) is surprised when he finds Jean playing alone, but Zoe appears and quickly whisks her away.
That night Zoe sits at home staring at the television and ignores the phone ringing as Paddy tries to call to check on her. Is Zoe’s behaviour getting out of control?
Elsewhere, Len (Peter Martin) goes to see Edna (Shirley Stelfox) and explains Pearl (Meg Johnson) is upset about the prospect of everyone finding out about her son. Edna is hurt that she considers her a gossip and approaches Pearl to reassure her she has no intention of betraying Len’s trust.
Later, Len tells Pearl that he would like to go to the prison to meet Frank Bernard but she nervously tries to put him off. Edna questions Pearl’s reaction, convinced that she is hiding something.
Meanwhile, Chloe (Amy Nuttall) admits to Siobhan (Abigail Fisher) that she fancies Carl (Tom Lister) and thinks they would make a great couple. She later tries to entice him by saying things usually get complicated when she lives with men, but Carl is just amused and responds by saying it is best not to get involved with flatmates.
Persistent Chloe refuses to give in and later gives Carl a shock when she wanders around the cottage wrapped in just a towel.
