Andy blames himself for Roberts’s disappearance
whilst Jack finally unburdens himself to Diane.
Charity’s teasing continues leaving Zoë chomping at the bit.

It's June 1st and The Sugden household was anything but a happy place. Jack and Andy struggled to control their anger, each blaming the other for Robert leaving. With the tension rapidly growing, a blazing row developed and Andy stormed out, leaving Jack dismayed at the break up of his family.

On her way to visit Jack, Diane encountered an upset Andy. Concerned for his well being she manages to persuade him to return home. Diane asked Jack why Andy was so upset. Overcome by emotion he broke down and admited to Diane that Andy was the one responsible for starting the barn fire, which killed Sarah.

Cain told Angie that he is going to have to go away on business for a while. He was evasive when she questioned him as to whether his business was legal.

Bernice and Carlos organised a secret rendevous, and admited that they are unable to stop their affair.

On June 4th Diane was facing a crisis as her feelings for Jack grew stronger. She began to realise that Turner may not be the man for her after all. She confided in Bernice, but she is unable to offer any solutions. Later, Bernice was put in an uncomfortable position when Turner tells her that he is concerned about his relationship with Diane. Diane visited Jack in the hope that they might be able to talk about their feelings for each other, but she was disappointed when he failed to raise the subject.

Aware that things can’t go on the way they are, she left Turner devastated when she admited that that their relationship is a lie and that she is in love with Jack!

Charity was living dangerously, juggling her relationships with Chris and Zoë. Her plans of going away with Zoë were thrown into disarray, when Chris’s business meeting was cancelled and he asked her to spend the evening with him.

Andy was horrified to discover that Jack had told Diane that he was responsible for starting the barn fire, which killed Sarah.

Marlon returned to the village having failed to find Tricia. His day got worse when he discovered that Kathy employed Carlos while he was away.

On June 5th Relations between Diane and Turner were at an all time low, following her admission that she’s in love with Jack. But while Diane desperately tried to make amends, Turner refused to forgive her for her betrayal. Diane told him that she hopes they can remain friends. He demanded to know if she had been seeing Jack without his knowledge, and he was infuriated by her response. He was further incensed when he discovered that Bernice had been aware of her mother’s feelings for Jack all the time. Diane visits Jack and tells him that she has finished with Turner and he is knocked for six when she admited that she was in love with him. Zoe gave Charity hell for failing to show for their rendezvous. She exploded in fury when Zoe suggested that she behaves as if Chris owns her. Kathy is relieved when Rodney agreed to buy Chris’s shares in Chez Marlon. But Marlon was immediately concerned by his ideas to improve business. Dismayed at the calibre of his workforce, Pollard was impressed when Gloria offered to find some more employees. Virginia West moved into the village, with a little help with the removals from Ed Wills.

With her relationship with Jack finally on track, everything should be rosy for Diane, and on June 6th Rodney took great pleasure in winding her up about her complicated love life, while Nicola suggested that she should patch things up with Turner before it is too late. Meanwhile, Turner told Terry that it is time he started thinking about the future instead of clinging to the past, and he has decided to move out of the Pub. Charity and Zoe decided to spend the day together, but they ended up wishing that they hadn’t when Paddy bumped into them at an inopportune moment. When Zoe returnsed to the vets, Paddy tells her that she is playing a very dangerous game, one which could cause problems for a lot of people. It was Tricia’s birthday and Marlon was upset when Jason showed his face in his restaurant. A heated exchange ensued in which Marlon blamed him for Tricia running away. But Marlon was stunned when Rodney admited that he had his own argument with her on the day she left. Pollard met his match when Cynthia Daggert went for a job interview at his factory. He was flummoxed when she saw through his patter and bluntly asked him about work and conditions. But it was Gloria who put her in her place when she asked for an extra £10 per week on the going rate.

On June 7th Charity told Zoe she was petrified of Chris finding out about the affair. She can't understand why Zoe would let her business partner Paddy in on the secret and tries to laugh off her feelings saying she was only looking for a bit of excitement.But she is left with food for thought when Zoe tells her straight that eventually it's inevitable Chris will find out. Gloria talked Pollard into fireing Seth from his factory for being too slow, and sends out a clear message to the rest of the workforce. Bob offers to take Viv on a belated honeymoon while Diane is furious to discover her ex, Rodney, has bought into Chez Marlon and will now be in direct competition with the pub.

Rodney shot Diane down on June 8th when she challenged him about his latest venture. He explained there won't really be any competition between Chez Marlon and the Woolpack because he intends to keep it upmarket! Gloria's managerial qualities at the factory ignited a flame in Pollard's heart.And after another stressful day of grumbles moans and strikes, the two retire home and shared a long over due kiss. Viv and Carol's rivalry had Bob in a spin and he ended up promising a far more expensive honeymoon than he can possibly afford. Charity admited to Chloe she's got herself into a dangerous situation with the Tates, but Zoe played on her uneasyness.

Gloria discovered June 11th is Eric Pollardís 56th birthday and decided to mark the occasion with a special meal at Chez Marlon.But the planned celebration is soured when Gloria visited the pawnshop to buy a present and found out that Pollard ripped her off over the necklace that drove her to a suicide attempt. Viv became suspicious of Bob when Roger Crosby, an old salesman friend arrived and Bob was less than eager to have him discuss his past in front of his wife. Bernice and Carlos continued to play dangerously and arranged a secret liaison at the vicarage while Ashley was away. Elsewhere, Charity turned down a dinner with Chris in favour of Zoe, while Carol enlisted some help to find the source of a foul smell in the B&B.

On June 12th Vivís suspicions were roused when Bob got angry and refused to talk about Roger and his past. When she realised that he has left his briefcase behind, Viv canít resist the temptation to snoop around inside and made a shocking discovery. There was an envelope addressed to Mr and Mrs Hope in Chesterfield. Viv confided in Carol about her find and Carol insisted that she must confront Bob and face the truth. Rodney invited his family for a meal at Chez Marlon. They were less than eager to accept but reluctantly agree to attend. Carlos was put out over dinner when Ashley mentioned that he and Bernice have been invited to Sorrento. Bernice was surprised when Nicola lets slip that she has asked Carlos to move in with her. Meanwhile Gloria continued to be frosty with Pollard and he had to pull out all the stops to try and win her over

It's June 13th and Viv and Carol headed for Chesterfield convinced that Bob had another wife on the go. As they arrived Viv was left gobsmacked to see Bob kissing a young woman with two children. The plot thickened when they followed him to a second and third rendezvous. First he visited the lady owner of a B&B, then he met yet another woman with more children.Viv was suitably furious and confronted Bob in a rage, demanding an explanation, but in the end it turned out that Bob wasn't seeing another woman, he was visiting his sister-in-law and his kids from his previous marriages. Diane overheard a conversation between Bernice and Carlos and was disturbed by it's tone. She became increasingly suspicious as she watched them closely together. Pollard convinced Gloria to return to the factory and gave her a promotion. He later sacked Edna Birch.

On June 14th Diane was becoming increasingly convinced that something was happening between Bernice and Carlos. She set about discreetly quizzing Bernice and Ashley about their homelife in a bid to uncover the truth.Unaware that Diane is hot on their trail, Bernice and Carlos meet at the vicarage but their passion is soon rudely interrupted as Diane walked into the bedroom. Viv and Bob were dealing with the aftermath of Bobís secret being discovered. Viv had seemingly forgiven him and Donna was glad that he is to stay. Carol canít believe that Viv has rolled over and forgiven Bob and she doesnít hold back when telling Viv what she thinks of her. Viv hits back by revealing she planted the prawns in the B&B. Marcís driving test date has come through and he approaches his dad for extra lessons.

On June 15th Diane was disgusted by Bernice and Carlos and made her displeasure known to her daughter.Others were unaware of the trouble that was brewing and happily sang the praises of Bernice, leaving her feeling more than a little uncomfortable. Bernice tried to make Diane understand that she doesnít want to hurt Ashley but canít stop seeing Carlos. Diane advised her to get away for a while to try and sort out her feelings, suggesting that she leave for Sorrento without Ashley. Sean spent some time with Ollie and Marc. Arriving home, Angie invited him to go out for a meal with them. Over dinner they reminisced about the good old days. Viv was triumphant about the prawn trick she played on Carol, while Terry and Bob are desperate for the two women to put their differences behind them. Sam won the right to be foreman at the factory but Pollard pushed for the job to go to Cynthia instead.

After a successful family meal, Len was in an optimistic mood about his son Sean's chances of saving his marriage. But as long as Cain Dingle is on the scene there is little chance of reconciliation between Sean and Angie.

On June 18th Cain and Angie arranged a secret liaison, but she was forced to stand him up when Ollie returned home upset, after her exams went badly. Cain was furious when Angie failed to show. On his way home, he was stopped by the police and questioned about a robbery. Intent on getting his own back, he told the police officer that he has an alibi, he was with Angie. Angie was shocked when there was a knock at the door and she found Cain and a police officer standing before her. Angie lied and told the police that she was with Cain earlier in the day. With her daughterís betrayal weighing heavily on her mind, Diane turned to Jack for advice. She told him that she intended to confront Carlos about his affair with Bernice, and Jack warned her to be careful about interfering. Diane found Carlos in the Woolpack and he was left devastated when she made it clear that his affair with her daughter must end. Andy regreted getting involved with Cain when he forced him to hide some contraband cigarettes

On June 19th Angie was confused over what she wanted and her confusion turned to anger when Len and Ollie tried to push her back with Sean before she was ready. Over at the Dingles, Sam wound up Cain when he suggests that Angie has dumped him in favour of Sean. But Sam was closer to the truth than he realised and Angie met with Cain to deliver some devastating news. She told Cain it was all over between the two of them. Nicola was worried about Carlos' mood but she managed to make up with him. Diane was pleased to see the couple getting on well together. Zak was angry when Lisa mentioned that they are struggling on Samís and her wages. His mood goes from bad to worse when he learned that she has been referring to him as a house husband.

On June 20th Cain was still reeling after being dumped by Angie and he was desperate for a second chance. He begged her to explain her reasons and she agreed to take a drive with him and talk things over. When Angie reiterated that things are over, Cain went wild with rage and began to drive like a man possessed. He lost control of the car and it crashed. Angie escaped on foot with Cain in hot pursuit, determined that if he can't have Angie - nobody can. Lisa was concerned over Zak's mood. She was further worried when he reappeared after having a bath and stormed out of the house a worried man. Diane was struggling behind the bar and arranges for a temporary barmaid to lighten the load. Louise the barmaid proved to be a big hit with the menfolk of Emmerdale, with her stunning looks and memory for names

June 21st. Angie was bewildered by Cainís reaction to her ending their affair. Fearing for her familyís safety, she raced back to her home. Lisa was concerned when she spotted Angie desperately trying to get into her house and enquired if she can do anything to help. She was stunned when, in a moment of weakness, Angie confided that she has be having an affair with Cain. Lisa was worried by the situation, but Angie assured her that she could handle Cain on her own.She was left regretting her words when she retired to bed and discovered Cain waiting for her. She was terrified when he menacingly warned her that he can get to her whenever he wants. ZoŽ was surprised by Charityís reaction when she gave her a surprise present. Instead of thanking her, Charity accused ZoŽ of trying to buy her. She became increasingly uncomfortable, when Zoe told her that their affair will not remain a secret forever and suggested that they could go abroad until the dust has settled. Lisa was facing an uphill struggle over Zakís strange behaviour. She tried to coax out of him what he is worried about, but was left frustrated when he refuses to answer her questions.

Angieís nerves were in tatters on June 22nd and with Cain refusing to give up the fight, things started to get a whole lot worse. If his constant presence is not enough, a series of malicious phone calls threaten to throw her over the edge. After retiring to bed, a sudden noise throws her in to a panic, and she decides to investigate. But she is left looking for an excuse for her behaviour when she narrowly misses Len with a cricket bat. Lisa was frustrated when she tried to tell Zak about Cain menacing Angie, but he stormed out of the house before she could tell him. Her concerns grew when he returned home and he rejected her attempts to get close to him. Carol was well cheesed off when Terry suggested that Cynthia and her family could stay at her Bed and Breakfast. But what she didn't know is that he had offered them a room at a reduced rate. Viv was excited when Bob told her that he had a surprise for her. But her excitement was short lived when he revealed that she could enter the ĎMiz Naughty Nylonsí competition to win an exotic holiday. Diane was annoyed when she spoted Rodney flirting with Louise. Intent on putting an end to their behaviour, she told Louise to be wary about him and warned Rodney to leave her bar staff alone.
