Episode 3000 Monday 10 September 2001
Marc Reynolds drives a stolen car and hits a pedestrian on the road. (This turns out to be Miss Strickland)

Emmerdale's teenagers are gearing themselves up for their big night out on the town - blissfully unaware of the horror that lies in wait for them.
The evening doesn't go well for Andy who is barred from entering the nightclub and forced to tramp the streets as his friends and even his girlfriend dance the night away inside. Andy had to resort to some chips and a can of 'SAFEWAY'S' lemonade from the club, brought out by Donna. He then goes walkabout and gets the blame as they miss the last bus home and in a desperate bid to impress Katie, Robert, Eve, Donna, Marc and Ollie, he sets about stealing a car.
Against their better judgement and with Marc at the wheel, the gang of seven then begin a joyride home that quickly turns to tragedy and so begins a living hell.
The regulars enjoy a theme night at the Woolpack but Cain draws attention to himself by splashing out with £20 notes.
Nicola has returned refreshed from her time away and confirms to Carlos that she is pregnant.
In Donna's bedroom, Bob and Viv tell Donna she is not going to Hotten this evening with her friend. Donna, dressed in a bathrobe listens to Bob and Viv as they rant on about her recent behaviour and how she doesn't deserve to go out. They are going out to the Woolpack theme night and don't expect to be back until late. They tell Donna they are trusting to stay at home. They go back downstairs. Donna takes her bathrobe off revealing her party outfit and starts putting on her make-up. Suckers!; In the Woolpack, the theme night is getting under way. Louise is dressed as an air-hostess and Rodney as a pilot. Bernice arrives and doesn't look very happy. She asks Rodney and Louise to come into the back for a minute. In the backroom Bernice tells Rodney she isn't happy to see her father behind the bar but excepts his help for one night only. Carlos in, to retrieve some bar staff before the customers help themselves. Bernice closes the door behind Rodney and Louise as she wants to talk to Carlos. She asks him if he has heard anything from Nicola. But there is no news. Carlos asks Bernice why she is so concerned and questions if she is worried that it may complicate things for her. Carlos tells Bernice that he wishes he hadn't met either of the sisters and returns to the bar; Back in the Woolpack, Viv and Bob have just arrived. Viv is concerned about Donna and tells Bob if it was Kelly they were talking about she would have escaped threw the window by now. Bob jokes with Louise and calls her a trolley dolly. Rodney is concerned for Bernice as she looks tried and tells her that Ashley shouldn't of gone away: Katie, Andy, Ollie, Robert, Marc and Eve arrive at the outside the night-club in Hotten. Robert is still trying to flirt with and impress Katie but to Andy luck, Katie is not taking it seriously. Eve asks the group to pose for a picture. Donna arrives and the group is shocked to see her. She tells Ollie and the others that she has her parents wrapped around her finger. Donna is determined not to let Eve get her claws into Marc; Angie and Len arrive at the Woolpack. Kathy, Seth, Betty, Edna, Viv and Bob are all at the bar they are commenting on the Reynolds' situation. Len talks to Edna about the kids going out but Edna is under the belief that Eve has gone to the pictures with some girls from the hockey club. Len shows a knowing smile; The group are still in the queue waiting to get into the club. Robert thinks Andy looks nervous. Eve chats to the bouncer to try and distract him but the bouncer spots Andy and asks for some ID Andy tells him he hasn't any but tells him his age and date of birth the two don't match and the bouncer refuses to let him in. Katie and the others are already in. Robert is happy that Andy hasn't been let in. He gives him his jacket and tells him he will bring him a drink out later. He tells Andy to waist sometime and get a bag of chips. Robert goes into the club and calls out to his brother, 'loser'; Terry is in the entrance to the Woolpack with Alan trying to persuade him to come in for a drink. Alan is not sure after what went on between him and Diane. Terry assures Alan that Diane is on holiday. Marlon passes them and comments on the return of the old couple. Louise comes out and tells Andy and Terry she will be offended if they don't come in. She offers them a one night stand!; In the club the group all dance and enjoy themselves. Marc and Eve are dancing very closely, whilst Donna looks on. Robert is doing his best to worm round Katie; Outside the club Andy is waiting his has some chips. The bouncer comes over to him and chats about not letting Andy in. Donna comes out and gives Andy a can of Lemonade that Robert has got for him. She tells Andy that Robert couldn't come out as he is looking for Katie. Andy insists he is going to wait outside the club for them to come out so he can walk Katie home; The Woolpack is packed and Rodney is having trouble keeping up with the serving. Alan and Terry and also behind the bar serving with Louise. Ed and Emily try to get served. Paddy is at the bar enjoying himself. Viv and Bob are in the corner knocking back the champagne. Cain pays for his drink with a Â£20, Rodney comments on the note but excepts it. Len points out to Angie that Cain is at the bar but the decide to stay. Len 'jokes' that he wishes he had a gun as that is the only way to deal with someone like Cain. Kathy is with Jack at the bar they chat with Alan, Rodney over and the three men talk about Diane. Bernice answers the phone at the back of the bar, Carlos over and the two exchange harsh words. Louise passes and asks them if she should ask Nicola to give them a hand as she is in the bar. They all go back into the bar and Nicola is standing by the door;
In the Woolpack, Nicola is welcomed and hugged by Emily. Tara, Andrew,
Charity and Chris arrive into the busy pub. Charity shows everyone her
engagement ring. Cain pesters Charity for a wedding invitation. Carlos
asks Nicola if he can talk to her, but she pushes him to one side and
greets her father; In the club Donna is brushing her hair in the ladies.
Eve passes her and asks about her relationship with Bob. Eve tells Donna
that her stepmother hits her and the reason for Marc being nice to her
the other night was because she was upset after a phone conversation
with her stepmother telling her not to come back to France. Donna falls
for the tail. Ollie comes out of the loo and the three girls return to
the club. The girls join the lads outside the club. They are all looking
for Andy but he is nowhere to be seen. Robert wants to leave and catch
their bus but Marc insists they wait for 5 more minutes; In the Woolpack,
Emily tells Paddy she is sorry she hasn't been much of a friend recently
but Paddy will not hear of it and tells her that she hasn't got a bad
bone in her body. Carlos is still waiting to talk to Nicola as she continues
to talk to Rodney. Nicola is nasty to Louise. Bernice asks Nicola if
she would like a drink of champagne, but Nicola informs her that she
is sticking to orange juice at the moment. Nicola asks Carlos what he
wanted to talk to her about as she needs to talk to him but not in the
pub somewhere more private; In Hotten the gang run for the last bus but
they just miss it. Andy is back with them. Andy and Robert argue and
Robert taunts Andy and tells Katie about Andy's past. Andy is angry and
decides to steel a car. He picks up a stone and smashes a car window
the others can not believe what he has done. Ollie and Eve thinks it
fine and get in the car. Katie, Robert, Donna and Marc are not sure and
all want to leave it but eventually they all get in, Marc is driving;
in the Woolpack, Jason arrives back from his holiday and is greeted with
a big kiss from Latisha, Bernice puts him straight back to work. Pollard
asks Cain where Sam is? He tells Cain to pass a message to him that if
he doesn't return with a sick note he will get the sack. Cain tells Pollard
he hasn't seen him and think he might of gone back to Ireland. Cynthia
and Angie talk about sex with Cain not being worth what Angie has lost;
Louise starts to make a speech. Nicola and Carlos go into the backroom
to talk. Louise thanks Diane for the late bar. She tells them all that
the Woolpack is a great pub and raises a toast to its past, present and
future; In the backroom, Carlos tells Nicola that Emily has told him
that she might be pregnant and Nicola confirms it and tell him she won't
trouble him again. She then begins to cry and tells Carlos she feels
so lonely. Carlos puts his arm around her; the gang drive along a lane.
It is raining. They are all in high spirits and joking about. There is
a thud. They think they have hit something on the road. Marc stops the
car and they don't know what has happened or what to do next. They look
down the road and think they must of hit a badger. They persuade Marc
to go and see what it was. Marc gets out of the car and jogs back down
the lane. As he gets closer to where the bump happens he sees something
on the road. It becomes obvious whatever Marc has seen is not very pleasant.
He runs back to the car. In the car the gang are getting bored of waiting.
Marc begins to bang on the outside of the car windows. He is upset. The
other think he is messing about. Eventually Eve gets out of the car followed
by the others. Marc leads them all back down the road, Until they reach
the spot. They all see a body in the grass by the side of the road. Their
faces look down in horror;
Episode 3001 Tuesday 11 September
Miss Strickland is dead - Killed by Marc Reynolds in a stolen car with Andy and Robert Sugden, Katie Addyman, Ollie Reynolds, Donna Windsor and Eve Birch

The nightmare continues for the seven deadly sinners as they reel with shock when they realise who they have killed. It is their Head-Teacher, Miss Strickland. Panic ensues and the seven teenagers argue as to how best to deal with the situation.
Andy suggests that they should call the police but they eventually agree on a drastic course of action. The youngsters decide to torch the car in a bid to destroy any evidence that may link them to the death. The horror of the night unites the group in fear. Andy and Robert put aside their differences, while Eve and Marc are drawn together.
The theme night at the Woolpack proves a roaring success.
Bernice tries desperately to smile through the pain and confusion she is feeling but finds herself preoccupied by the news that Nicola is carrying Carlos' baby.
Cain fears that somebody is onto his counterfeit money scam when he discovers a mysterious envelope in his pocket.
In the country lane, the rain continues to pour down on Andy, Robert, Marc, Katie, Eve and Donna. They all stare at the body on the side of the road. They question if it is dead. Marc shakes. They are all in shock and crying. Andy goes to the body and turns it over. To their horror they realise it is Miss Strickland; In the Woolpack the theme night continues. Louise tells Bernice to go home as she looks tired. Terry agrees with Louise. Bernice talks to Terry about Nicola being pregnant and tells him she hasn't a clue how Nicola will be feeling at the moment. Bernice leaves; At the roadside the kids start to blame one and another for what has happened. 'If Marc had of been looking at the road'. 'If Andy hadn't stolen the car'. They try to work out what to do next. Katie has a mobile in the car. Katie runs back to the car crying. Andy calls after her, but Eve says she will go. At the car Katie is hysterical and wants to phone her dad. Eve persuades her not to. Eve tells Katie they need to work out what best to do before the start to tell anyone. Eve tells Katie she will look after her. In the Woolpack, Edna is horrified at Viv and Bob's exhibition of affection towards each other. She is about to leave but Len encourages her to stay for one more drink. Len is at the bar. Cain comes over to Len to try and antagonise him but Len is too wise to fall for any of Cain's silly tricks; In the country lane the group all shout at each other as they try and work out what to do. Katie still wants to phone her Dad but the others say no. Andy wants to call the police. Ollie wants to call her mum but Marc says no. They see car headlights coming towards them. Andy wants to flag it down and get help, but Marc thinks it is too soon. So they all jump and hide behind a wall; In the Woolpack, Viv and Bob are still kissing. Bob suggests they should go home and see Donna but Viv thinks another bottle of Champagne would be a better offer. Pollard is at the bar with Cain, he tells him to pass on his message to Sam when he sees him. Pollard leaves. Bob tries to order more Champagne at the bar but is told by Louise that they have run out. Bob is pleased and orders lagers. Cain finds an envelope and accuses Bob of putting it in his pocket. Bob denies it. Cain shouts around the pub trying to find out who the envelope is from. Angie keeps her head down and tells Len, Edna and Jack to ignore him. Cynthia jokes about Cain being the thinking woman crumpet. Cain thinks it might be Rodney trying to worn him off Louise. Rodney denies all. Louise tells Cain to go home and read what's inside there. The kids have found refuses in a barn. They try and decide what to do for the best. Robert and Eve are much calmer than the rest of the group. After much debating they all agree to stick together and try and get home as if nothing has happen, leaving Miss Strickland where she is. Eve suggest to cover the last of their tracks they must burn the car. The group move out of the barn; Cain arrives home at the Dingles. He takes the envelope out of his pocket and removes one of his fake Â£20. It has been torn up. Cain bolts the house door; Ollie and Marc are near the car. The others stand in the background. Ollie tells Marc to get his lighter out. He puts the flame to the car. They all run. The car explodes. They keep running.
Louise calls last orders in the bar at the Woolpack. Rodney tells Louise
he is looking forward to sometime alone will her; At the Sugden's, a
taxis horn beeps outside. Katie is still crying. Andy gives her some
money to pay for the taxis. Andy advises her on what to say to her dad.
Katie still wants to tell him everything. She asks Andy if they are still
going out with each other. Robert reminds her if the taxis driver asks
her where she has been she must say at the Sudgen's all evening. Katie
goes, Andy and Robert come into the Kitchen. Both boys are upset. Andy
tells him the secret will get harder to keep. Andy tells Robert the flames
from the car reminded him of their mum. The boys are crying. Andy asks
if Robert is on his side. Robert thinks there are no side they are in
this together. The boys hug; Marc lets Eve into the Reynolds. Eve tells
him she didn't want him to be alone and kisses him on the cheek. Eve
tells him he must wash his clothes to destroy the evidence. She has already
changed. Marc is shell-shocked and tells Eve he doesn't think he can
do this; Ollie and Donna are swigging brandy in the Hope backroom. They
are both very shaken. Ollie ask Donna if she can stay the night but Donna
doesn't think it is a good idea and may raise suspicion. They hear the
shop door click as Viv and Bob arrive home. Donna pushes Ollie out of
the back door and rushes upstairs to her room; In the Woolpack everyone
is leaving. Cynthia talks to Angie about Ollie and thinks Ollie will
soon get fed up of being at the Daggert's. Finally they all leave. Rodney
questions if Louise will miss him when she goes back to Australia? They
decide to leave the glass washing until morning; Donna is motionless
as she lies in bed at home. Viv and Bob put their drunken heads around
the door to check on her. They thinks he has been as good as gold all
evening and go off to beds themselves. Donna eyes are wide open, far
to terrified to sleep; In Marc's bedroom at the Reynolds. Eve sits with
Marc on his bed. She is very calm about the situation and tells Marc
to not think about it anymore. She kisses him and they begin to kiss;
Robert lays on his bed in the Sugdens. He talks with Andy and asks him
if it felt like this after the barn fire. Andy wishes he had never been
born. Both boys are confused and continue to cry; Eve and Marc are in
bed together. Ollie comes into Marc's room is completely shock to see
them and think they must be sick to sleep with each other after what
has just happened. Ollie goes. Eve gets up quickly and dresses herself
and tells Marc to go and talk to his sister as she needs him. Eve goes;
Marc goes into Ollie's bedroom. She is at her dressing table. Sister
and brother stare at each other. Ollie tells Marc he is sick. They sit
on the bed and work out what to do when Angie gets home. Marc wants to
tell, but Ollie thinks it has already gone to far there is no turning
back now. They try and comfort each other;

Carlos Diaz proposes to Nicola Blackstock
The kids try to come to terms with the horror of Monday night. Donna refuses to go to school preferring to lock herself away in her bedroom. Jack is curious as to why Andy and Robert are acting so oddly, but mistakenly puts it down to girl trouble. Katie breaks down, clearly having problems coming to terms with the consequences of their actions, while Eve does her best to put the incident to the back of her mind. Ollie tells Marc that Donna is near breaking point, and they need to arrange a meeting to discuss what they are going to do, but will he agree?
Carlos tells Nicola that even though they are no longer in a relationship he intends to provide for their baby. But he is stunned when she tells him that she is not sure if she wants to keep it. Intent on making up for past mistakes, she is almost lost for words when he asks her to marry him but quickly accepts.
Rodney is annoyed to learn that the restaurant has taken counterfeit money. Convinced that he knows who is responsible, he confronts Cain and warns him not to pass fake notes through his businesses.
In Robert's bedroom at the Sugden the alarm clock rings and both Andy and Robert are woken from what little sleep they have had; In Donna's bedroom her alarm clock rings as well. She opens her eyes and then shuts them again as she realises what has happened is not a dream; In Ollie's bedroom. Ollie wake up, she hears noises on the landing and realises it is her mum. Angie is on the landing and hears movement in Ollie's room. Angie comes into Ollie's room, happy to see her daughter home. Ollie says nothing and rolls over; In the Hope's backroom, Viv and Bob are nursing bad hangovers at the kitchen table. Donna comes downstairs and tells them that she feels sick and shaky. Viv tells her not to go to school and go back to bed; Angie comes into Marc's room and asks him what happened last night. Marc is jumpy and nervously tells her nothing. Angie is hurt that she is not told anything anymore by her children. She asks Marc to tell Ollie that breakfast is at 8 o'clock; Emily brings a breakfast tray into Nicola's room. Emily asks if she is pregnant and is told yes. Emily apologises for telling Carlos and tells Nicola that she will support her in whatever way she can. She asks Nicola what she is going to do next?; In the Sugden's kitchen, Andy and Robert are dressed for school they sit in silence not eating very much. Jack asks them what is wrong as it is like being at a wake. The boys are jumpy. Jack turns the radio on to break the silence. The news headlines broadcast that a woman's body has been found on the Hotten road. A burnt out car was found nearby. Police are appealing for witnesses. The boys hurriedly leave for school. Jack tells Victoria that it must be woman troubles that are distracting the boys; Carlos is in the kitchen at Annie's cottage, Terry comes in from a run and ask what is the situation with Nicola. Carlos confirms that Nicola is pregnant and isn't sure what to do. Terry puts the kettle on to make some coffee and lots of it; At the bus stop in the village, Robert notices that Donna is missing. Eve walks bright and breezing up the street. She joins Robert and Andy at the bus stop. Eve asks the boys if they did anything special last night. They question Donna's whereabouts but Eve acts as if she doesn't care. Eve puts on her lipstick and the school bus arrives; In the Woolpack Louise is counting out last night's takings. there is a knock at the door. Rodney goes to answer it. He lets Betty in for cleaning. Betty is cross to see the bar still covered in empties. Louise sweet talks Betty and soon has her eating out of her hand. Kathy comes in to tell them that some counterfeit money is doing the rounds. She has found Â£40 in the takings at Chez Marlon. Louise is worried they may be some in the taking from last night. Rodney advises her not to tell Diane and instead put it back through the till. Louise isn't so sure; At Hotten comprehensive Robert and Andy asks Eve how she can be so cool after what has happened. She tells then to continue to act normal. A girl come out and tells them that Miss Strickland is dead. Robert says he knows. Eve quickly covers his blurt. The girl, Maria, tells them how she died. Eve, Robert and Andy continue on their way; In the Woolpack, Louise has found Â£60 worth of counterfeit money. Rodney tells her to do as he advises. Bernice arrives for work and Louise tells her they made over nine hundred pounds last night. Bernice congratulates her on her efforts and takes the money for banking. Louise pays Betty with some of the counterfeit money and puts the rest of it in the till; At Hotten comp. Eve still pretends to behave normally as she chats to Robert and Andy about the news circulating the school. Andy sees Katie and rushes to her. Katie is still very upset and tells him she can not cope with what is happening. Maria passes them and fuels the story about how Miss Strickland died and tells them there is counselling available for anyone who needs it. She tells Robert and Andy that they are probably used to this sort of thing with what has happen in their family. Andy nearly thumps her but Robert holds him back. Eve goes after Katie; Nicola arrives at the Woolpack. Bernice is trying to get information out of Nicola but she is not telling her sister anything at the moment. Carlos arrives and Nicola say a quiet hello to him; In the Reynolds, Ollie is watching the news on TV which is appealing for more information about the death of Miss Strickland in a hit and run accident. Angie brings Ollie a drink and tells her it is good to have her home. Ollie tells her she had nowhere else to go and leaves the house; Nicola's brings a food order into Carlos in the kitchen at the Woolpack. Carlos tells her he needs to talk to her. He tells her he will provide for her and the baby. Bernice comes in and quickly leaves again. Nicola tells Carlos that he knows they are not together and doesn't expect him to be involved in the baby. She tells him she thinks a child should have both parents and that why she is thinking about having an abortion. Carlos is horrified;
Bernice comes into the Woolpack kitchen to ask Carlos if Nicola is pregnant.
Carlos tells her it is true but Nicola is thinking of having an abortion.
Nicola comes into the kitchen and Bernice makes a hurried exit; Ollie
is sat alone in the bus shelter. Danny comes in and asks her where she
was last night. Ollie thanks him for letting her stay but she thought
it was time to go home. Danny again asks about last night and Ollie snaps
at him asking what his obsession is with last night. Ollie completely
over reacts and leaves Danny wondering what really happened. In Annie's
cottage Terry talks to Carlos about Nicola and her pregnancy. Carlos
tells him that she is thinking about having an abortion. Carlos hates
this idea as it is destroying a life, his baby's life. Carlos concludes
that may be a person can love two people at the same time and if he can't
have Bernice and her baby he might as well have Nicola and her baby.
Terry thinks this is a very bad idea; Donna is on the sofa in the Hopes
backroom. Viv comes in and tells her about the terrible news of Miss
Strickland's death. Donna is just about to tell Viv the truth when Ollie
comes in and stops her. Viv leaves them alone and Ollie tells her she
must not tell as she has the best alibi of all as she as at home in bed
all night; Cain is in the yard at the Dingles. Rodney is there and tells
him that he knows about the counterfeit money and advises Cain not to
use it in any of his businesses. Rodney goes. Sam looks over from behind
the barn. Cain turns as if he knows someone is there but Sam has gone;
Emily opens Nicola's cottage door to Carlos. Carlos pushes past her and
goes into the sitting room. Nicola and Emily are in the middle of their
tea. Carlos asks Nicola to come upstairs with him as what he has to say
to her is very private; In the Woolpack Ollie arrives and tells Bernice
she needs to talk to Marc. Marc comes over and he and Ollie go into the
porch. Ollie tells him that Donna is about to tell someone and maybe
he should talk to her. Marc doesn't agree. Ollie thinks they should all
get together and get their stories straight, Marc thinks this will draw
attention to them. Ollie storms off telling Marc to sort it out; In Nicola's
bedroom Carlos tells Nicola he thinks they should get married. Nicola
is lost for words. She asks him why he wants to marry her? He tells her
he wants their baby and he loves her. Nicola says yes;
Episode 3003 Thursday 13 September 2001
Bernice's world is torn apart by the news and with no-one else to turn to, she confides to Terry that she is still in love with Carlos.
Rodney is furious to discover that he has been gazumped over Mill Cottage. On spotting a surveyor at the house, he endeavours to find out the identity of the new owner. But he is left seething when the surveyor refuses to divulge any information.
Emily's attempts to develop her relationship with Ed end in failure when he misreads the signals. She offers herself to him and he sleeps on the sofa!
Marc is panic stricken when Len asks him to drive him to the hospital for a check up. With the horror of Monday night still fresh in his mind, Marc summons up all of his courage to get behind the wheel. But he is terrified when they are stopped by the police investigating Monday night's incident. What makes it worse is that he sees that Viv and Edna are at the scene. They have brought Eve and Donna along to lay flowers. Eve is still acting the part but Marc and Donna are cracking. Later, after Lens reads out an article on the crash in the Courier Marc gets past Edna to call on Eve who tells him not to worry.
Emily burst into Nicola's room bringing her a morning cup of tea. She finds Nicola in bed with Carlos and is embarrassed. Nicola tells her the news about their wedding. Carlos tells her he wishes they could keep it a secret for a short while or until they have told Rodney. Nicola plans to go into Hotten today to look at wedding dresses. She invites Emily to come with her but Emily is working; In the Sugden's sitting room Jack asks the boys about how they feel about the death of Miss Strickland. Andy tells Jack he isn't bothered as he never liked her. Jack thinks that it is a terrible thing to say; Carlos arrives back at Annie's cottage. Terry asks if he has made friends with Nicola. Carlos tells him that he and Nicola are getting married. Terry advises him to tell Bernice before Nicola does; In the Hopes backroom, Bob is having his breakfast. A copy of the Hotten Courier is on the table with the headline about Miss Strickland on the front. Viv tells Bob that Donna is feeling very sensitive today and she must not be upset by anything. Viv is going to the wholesalers to stock up fresh flowers for the road side mourner who will need them; In Nicola's cottage, Nicola is about to leave to go shopping for wedding dresses. She asks Emily to be bridesmaid, she agrees. Emily asks if Nicola is doing the right thing? Nicola is confident and happy; Carlos arrives at the Woolpack to see Bernice. Louise and Jason tell her she isn't there as Ashley is leaving for his retreat today. Carlos tells them he will have to wait until tonight to see her; In the Reynolds kitchen, Marc is sat alone at the table, Len makes him jump as he comes in. He talks to Marc about Miss Strickland. He asks Marc if he would drive him to hospital this afternoon. Marc tries to get out of it but reluctantly says he will; In the Woolpack, Latisha talks to Jason about his holiday. He gives her a present of a shell and some perfume. Rodney is on the phone in the background. He finishes his call and tells Louise he has been gazumped over Mill Cottage; In the Hope's shop Viv is expanding the rumours about the damage done to Miss Strickland's body. She arranges the flower display. Donna, Eve and Edna are in the shop. Terry is trying to get serve and is finally served by Emily. Eve ask if she can get some flowers to put on the accident spot. Viv thinks it is a great idea and tells them that she and Donna will come with them. Donna doesn't want to go; Marc is in the car with Len. He looks terrified of driving. Len asks what is wrong and encourages him that it is normal to loose your nerve after passing your test. The car slowly moves off. In the village Rodney and Louise are walking in the street. Rodney sees someone down at Mill cottage and goes to investigate if it the person who has gazumped him; Marc slowly drives along the road. They come along the accident spot. There is a small gathering of people and Jack's Landrover. The police are stopping cars and trying to find information or witnesses. They stop Jack and talk to him. Eve and Donna and a few others place flowers on the ground. Donna sees Marc in the car with Len and burst into tears and hugs Viv. The police stop Marc and Len. They ask them where they were on Monday night. Len tells them he was in the pub. Marc is reluctant to answer. The policeman knows it is Angie son. Len prompts Marc that he was in Leeds but Marc continues to say nothing;
Marc finishes his story to the people about going into Leeds to see a movie and getting some chips. The policeman thanks him for his time but tells him they will be calling to see him on their house to house enquiries. Marc is shaking. He slowly drives off, staring at Donna: Outside Mill cottage a well-dressed man is locking up. Rodney approaches and asks if he has bought the place. The man tells him he is a surveyor. Rodney asks him to tell him who has bought the cottage. But the man is not at liberty to say but his client is planning to live in the cottage; In the Sugdens kitchen Andy leaves a message on an answer phone for Katie to ring him back. He talks to Robert about not being able to get hold of Katie and is concerned she may have told someone. Jack comes in and tells the boys he has just seen Eve and Donna laying flowers at the roadside. The boys share glances to each other; In the B & B Rodney tells Louise about his conversation with the surveyor outside Mill cottage. Nicola comes in with shopping bags. She tells Rodney and Louise she is getting married to Carlos and is pregnant. Rodney is stunned but congratulates her. They arrange to go to the Woolpack to celebrate and tell Bernice; In the Woolpack, Edna and Viv gossip about the death of Miss Strickland. Eve listens in the background. Terry and Carlos are at the bar; In the Reynolds, Len reads to Marc from the Hotten Courier about the hit and run driver burning the car. Marc goes; Edna and Eve leave the pub for an early night. Edna tells Viv that Donna could use an early night too, they leave. Carlos sees Bernice and goes to try and talk to her. Nicola, Louise and Rodney come into the pub and Nicola tells Carlos she has already told her father the news. Nicola tells Bernice the news. Bernice looks stunned. Nicola asks if she is happy for her and assures her worried looking sister that things will work out for her and Carlos as she is pregnant; Ed and Emily sit on the sofa in Nicola's cottage. Emily asks Ed if he want to stay the night but Ed thinks she means on the sofa; At the cellar door in the Woolpack, Bernice is crying. Terry comes in. She sobs onto Terry's shoulder and tells him she loves Carlos. Terry tells her Carlos loves her but is doing the best for the babies. Bernice tells Terry she loves Ashley too but was force into her decision by the pregnancy. Terry tells her to get on with life and get the best champagne to toast her sister; Marc arrives at Edna's to see Eve about some homework. Edna leaves them alone. Marc tells Eve he is going to hand himself in to the police. Eve talks him out of telling as no-one has a clue it was them; Emily and Ed are making a bed up on the sofa for Ed. Neither of them are saying what they really want; In the pub Rodney raises a toast to Nicola and Carlos. Terry raises his glass to Bernice and Bernice stares at Carlos.

The teenagers are anxious as they gather together to discuss their alibis.
When Eve fails to turn up, Marc goes in search of her. But he is horrified to see a police car leaving her house. Will Eve have betrayed the teenagers?
Nicola forges ahead with the wedding plans determined to get Carlos up the aisle before she begins to show.
Meanwhile, Bernice does her best to appear happy, but she is clearly upset when Carlos explains that marrying Nicola is the best decision for all concerned.
Jason and Latisha grow closer when they go on a picnic, but he is slightly bewildered when he catches her watching him admiringly.
Angie is pensive as she is called to the police station to hear the outcome of the enquiry into Cain's allegations. She is devastated to learn that she has been demoted and transferred to another station. Len tries to lighten her mood, but she is clearly worried about how she is going to support her family on a lower salary.
Marc and Ollie are in the garden at the Reynolds. Marc is worried he can't trust the others. Ollie thinks they should have a meeting with the others tonight. Marc agrees and they decide the cricket pavilion would be a good meeting place. Ollie goes to tell the others; Nicola is frying breakfast in her cottage. She talks to Carlos about setting a date for the wedding. Nicola wants it to be as soon as possible so her bump is not showing. She tells Carlos she will have a word with Bernice to get things moving with Ashley and the church. Carlos thinks it might be easier having a registry office wedding but Nicola refuses. She serves up the big fried breakfasts for Carlos. Emily in and asks if either of them have seen Ed?; Andy and Robert are about to leave for school. Robert thinks he might not go in but Andy tells him he must. Ollie arrives at the door and tells them about the meeting tonight. She tells them the police inquiries have started and therefore they must all get their stories straight. Andy says he will tell Katie; In the Woolpack backroom, Rodney talks happily about both his daughter's pregnancies and Nicola's wedding. Bernice doesn't want to talk about either subject. Rodney tells Louise it is a pity she will not be in the country to come to the wedding. He is still angry about the sale of Mill cottage falling threw. He leaves to try once again to secure an offer on the house; In the Hopes shop, Ed apologises to Emily about leaving the cottage so early this morning. Emily tells him they need to talk about their relationship and tells Ed he must come to the Woolpack this evening; In the Daggert's cottage, Cynthia asks Latisha where Jason is taking her for their picnic. Cynthia is concern that Latisha is trying to build her friendship with Jason into something more than that of friends. Latisha tell her mother to stop nagging as she knows that Jason is gay. Jason arrives, Latisha is all smiles; On the playing fields at Hotten comp. Ollie tries to persuade Donna to come to the meeting at the cricket pavilion this evening. Donna is reluctant and is behaving very nervously. Ollie warns her about her behaviour and insists Donna come this evening. Andy passes looking for Katie; In the Woolpack, Rodney helps himself to a whiskey and is still agitated about being gazumped over Mill Cottage. He tells Louise when he finds out who the buyer is he will have a few choice words to say to him and the estate agent. Louise and Rodney have a silly argument over Louise leaving the country, Rodney goes. Len and Angie are at a table. They talk about Angie disciplinary hearing this afternoon. Angie leaves for the police station; Andy finally catches up with Katie at school. She is crying and tells Andy she can't cope with Miss Strickland's death and keeps seeing her face. Andy tells her he will look after her. Katie sobs onto Andy's shoulder; Marc arrives at Chez Marlon. He finds Eve and questions why she isn't at school as it could raise suspicion. Eve tells Marc not to worry. Rodney come over and tells Marc and Eve if they aren't ordering food they must leave the restaurant. Marc tells Eve about the meeting planned for tonight, she agrees to come. They decide to go back to Eve's; At school, Katie and Andy continue to talk as Katie doesn't see why she should come to the meeting tonight. Andy tells her he will call for her this evening and they will go together; Jason and Latisha are at the cricket pavilion. Latisha thanks Jason for the trouble he has gone to in arranging everything; Kirk is sat in his baby chair. Latisha talks about her mother warning her off Jason. They chat and enjoy the moment together; In Edna's cottage, Eve and Marc put together the story before the meeting tonight. She insists Marc must not blame himself and he must stop acting like a suspect. They hear Edna arrive home. Marc makes a quick exit. Edna enters the room and Eve pretends she is still upset about Miss Strickland. Edna assures her granddaughter that who ever did this will be brought to justice;
At the cricket pavilion Jason has Kirk on his knee as he chats to Latisha. They both have enjoyed the picnic. Latisha notices something in Jason's hair and lovingly runs her finger threw it. There is a moment's eye contact between them; Marc and Ollie are walking towards the cricket pavilion as Danny catches them up. He asks where they are going. Marc is blunt and tells him nowhere. Ollie tells Marc to go ahead. Danny asks Ollie if everything is OK. She tells him that just because he is a mate doesn't mean she has to tell him everything. Danny is hurt and goes. Ollie catches Marc up on the footbridge. They continue on their way; In the Woolpack, Nicola tells Bernice she is going to have a church wedding and the sooner the better. She asks if Bernice can pull a few strings with Ashley so the date can be organised. Bernice tries to put Nicola off from marrying before the birth, and ask doesn't why Nicola can't have the baby first and then get married. After all it would give her more time to plan. Nicola doesn't agree and thinks that Bernice's idea would be common. Rodney comes into the pub and Nicola calls him over to join them. They talk about the wedding plans. Rodney is preoccupied as he sees Cain talking to Louise at the bar. Rodney goes to Cain and checks the note he is paying with; At the cricket pavilion Donna, Ollie and Marc wait for the others to arrive. Robert is next. Donna canÃ•t see the point of the meeting and tells the other she can not stay for long. They see Andy and Katie is the distance; In the Hope's shop, Carlos tells Emily that he does love Nicola. Emily is concern Nicola is going to get hurt again but Carlos assures her that that will not happen. Ed comes in and tells Emily that he can not come to the Woolpack this evening as he has to work. Emily thinks Ed is trying to avoid her; Outside the pavilion the group are still waiting for Eve. They talk about how bad the week has been and not being able to sleep. Katie still wants to tell her dad but the others all insist that no-one must tell anyone anything. Reluctantly Katie agrees with the majority; In the Hope's shop, Ed tries his best to explain why he has not taken his relationship with Emily any further. He can never find the right words and Emily is getting more hurt by what Ed is saying. He tells Emily he will try and meet her later but he can not promise anything; At the pavilion the group still wait for Eve. Donna and Katie both want to go. The boys stop them. Ollie shouts at the group to stop arguing and tells them to start going threw their alibis; Out the back of the bar Carlos creeps up on Bernice he apologise for not telling her about the wedding plans sooner. He tells Bernice he is determined to make things work with Nicola. Bernice is hurt but is trying not to show it; At the cricket pavilion one by one they go threw their alibis. Donna thinks Eve can not be trusted as she hasn't even come to the meeting. Donna wants to go and find her but Marc stops her and tells them that he will go and find where she is; Bernice is putting her coat on about to go home she talks to Louise and asks if she is alright. Louise is fed up with Rodney and how he is preoccupied with Mill Cottage and Cain Dingle. Len and Angie come in and order drinks. Len asks about the enquiry. Angie tells him she has been demoted and transferred to Skipdale. Angie is depressed with the situation. Len makes her laugh by telling her things can not get much worse than what they are now; Marc walks into the village towards Edna's cottage. He sees Edna and Eve saying goodbye to two policemen. Eve is upset. He panics and hides behind a building;
